Kaoru... What a pretty name. I'm standing in the doorway, staring at my twin. He's sitting in an armchair by the window across the room, gazing outside contemplatively. Elbow propped up on the ledge, his chin is resting peacefully in his palm with his fingers curled under his lips. The sunlight is reflecting off his auburn hair, making it glow like fire.

He looks so... picturesque. I slip my camera out of my pocket and turn it on. He doesn't hear me as I walk surreptitiously across the clean floor of the Third Music Room, bringing the lens into focus. Kaoru is lost in thought. …I wonder what he's thinking of. A small, content smile is playing on his lips, his dark eyelashes framing his amber eyes perfectly as he watches the outside world. I'm standing perpendicular to him now, about ten feet away. He still hasn't realized I'm here. Or, maybe he has, and he just hasn't acknowledged my presence. But that's unlike him. I zoom in my camera and steady my hand.

Kaoru sits up abruptly and looks at me, only mildly surprised. I get the impression he had been expecting me to show up eventually.

"Hikaru...?" he says skeptically, an eyebrow arched.

"Don't move," I tell him, grinning to let him know its okay. He half-smiles questioningly, but does as he's told. He returns to his original position, undoubtedly feeling self-conscience now that he's aware I'm looking at him. His eyes keep darting my direction every couple of seconds. I move closer to him, and then crouch down so I'm at his level. I steadily inch forward until I'm about a foot away from him, and refocus the lens.

"You look so... Perfect," I breathe, lowering my camera.

"Stop it," says Kaoru, blushing. "Can I move now?"

"Sure," I agree. He stands up and stretches lithely, like a cat waking up from a nap in the sun. "Can I see them?" he asks, indicating at my camera.

"'Course," I push a button on my camera and give it Kaoru.

He studies the photos for a few seconds and smiles at me. "You're a really good photographer."

"Nah, you're just photogenic," I say, my arm winding its way around his waist and pulling him closer to me. He locks his arms around my neck and nuzzles my cheek. He smells so good. Like sun-kissed vanilla. He nibbles at my ear, and I whimper against my will.

"Kaoru…" I murmur into his hair. He moves so we're looking straight at each other, mirror reflections. Still holding him, I kiss him passionately, our tongues dancing together, my skin feeling electricity where it's rubbing against his. I pull away to draw a quick breath, but when I begin to lean forward again, he holds a finger to my lips, stopping me. I look into his warm eyes, my own intently curious. Kaoru holds up my camera. I'd forgotten he had it.
