Sometimes life wasn't fair, as JD realized, curled up in his bed. Staring blankly at the wall, he refused to acknowledge the other prescence in the room.
Perry frowned at the brooding figure in the bed. He wasn't sure what to say. Well, actually he did, but this wasn't the time to be making smart remarks at the guy, unless he wanted a pouting boyfriend to deal with.
Wait a minute, wasn't he already pouting?
Ah to hell with it. If anything maybe it would finally get JD to talk with him. "Oh come on, Loretta, I know how hard it is to deal with this problem, especially with those pesky girl emotions...but gosh, there's no use crying over spilled milk."
Man, if this was a TV show, Dr. Cox would of heard the thunder sound effects right about now.
"...What?!" JD lifted his head, glarring daggers at him. "How can you be so...so...inconsiderate?!" he yelled, throwing his pillow at him in rage.
Dodging the plush projectile, Dr. Cox sighed. "Look, I know this might be hard on you...but, you just gotta get over it. You can't wallow about in sorrow about something like this. Hell, you'd waste half your life trying to deal with all your little problems."
The look John gave him clearly told him that he was digging his hole deeper, not pulling himself out. "Little...problem?" he choked out. After a few seconds of silence, JD buried himself under the blankets, once again shielding himself from the world.
Well, at least he tried.
"Come on, newbie..." Perry tried to coax him, pulling off the covers. "Don't go hiding under the blankets now.."
'Damnit, just leave me alone!' JD thought to himself, curling himself up into a tighter ball and hiding his face in the matress. Maybe if he kept this up, Perry would realize his need for alone time and would go watch TV or something.
After a few seconds of blissful nothing, the bed shifted down next to him. An arm wrapped itself around his waist, pulling him into a toned chest.
"Leave me alone..."
"Sorry JD, I can't." Perry frowned, running his hand through the dark locks on the young doctor's head.
A watery sigh was heard. "I knew him since college..."
"Yeah..I know."
JD turned around, burying himself into the warm body. "He was my friend.."
Perry let out a sigh, trying to choose his words carefully. "I know how much he meant to you...but...you just have to let go."
The younger man was about to retort something but then a soft pair of lips blocked whatever he was about to stay. Blinking back a few tears, JD returned the kiss, shuddering as Perry drew him even closer.
Pulling away, Dr. Cox smiled lightly. And JD smile, but it was sad.
"Can..I have some time alone?"
"Sure, newbie...hey, when you decide to join me we'll watch a movie, alright?"
"Kay..." JD waited until Perry had left their bedroom and closed the door. Then he sighed. He knew that Dr. Cox was right...but, it was always easier to say something then actually do it.
After gathering his muddled thoughts, JD sighed, getting up. Staring out the window, he smiled lightly. "I'll miss you Rowdy...If there is such a place as stuffed animal heaven, you'd be in a gold trophy case."
JD nodded, feeling a bit better than before. As he left the room, he found himself still unable to believe that his taxidermed pooch fell off his scooter and was run over by that garbage truck...
