AN: Someone used the magic words and I took it as a challenge. So to all of you who love this fic, send your thanks to The Last Sea Serpent for inspiring me again. This is just going to be something I work on whenever I feel like it, just like it was before. (Also expect some edits to be done on previous chapters, wow does that hurt me physically). My writing style has changed, but I hope you enjoy.
Also this fic passed it's ten year anniversary last December. I am not sure how I feel about that.
Prompts are open. Send in whatever you feel like, I don't promise to write it, but I will look at it.
[Prompt: Aeris shows up, and teams up with Zack to replace all of Hojo's lab coats with frilly white wedding dresses. From The Last Sea Serpent]
"I'm not sure this is a great idea," Aeris says softly, glancing around her warily as she tip-toes behind her bodyguard. Zack smirks over his shoulder at her, bravely leading the way to Hojo's office, his arms laden with the heavy bundle of white fabric Aeris had brought with her.
"This is the best idea," he says convincingly, so loud he's almost shouting. He glances at the security camera in the corner, still grinning like the cat that ate the canary. "Don't you think so Reno?" He called out to their accomplice, who had invaded the security room earlier as well as cleared a path for their prank.
Back in the security room, Reno tries to figure out the controls to move the camera so it would look like it was nodding. After accidentally changing the feed to Rufus's office (where he and Dark Nation appeared to be having a screaming contest), he figures it out. It's not that hard when compared to piloting a helicopter without crashing.
Aeris follows Zack's gaze just in time to watch the camera bob as if it were nodding in agreement. She blinks, looking back to Zack who just grins. She still feels a tad nervous, but knowing that Zack's friend is watching and will wipe the security video later makes her feel a bit better.
"This is it," Zack announces, raising his foot and kicking in the nearest door. With an overly dramatic bang, it slams open, revealing Hojo sleeping like a baby. His lab coat hung from the hanger, making their job easier (and removing the possibility of actually touching him, ew). Aeris peers around him, a small smile appearing on her face at the sight.
"Let's get to work," she sighs, removing the various lab coats hidden about the office, Zack follows her, replacing each with one of the garments he has in his bundle.
"How did you even find all of these?" He asks after a moment, carefully hanging up the last of his burden in the exact same way as the coat she had removed minutes before. Aeris shrugs, not willing to divulge any of her secrets.
Coats removed and dresses in place, Hojo still sleeping soundly, they survey their work. "Does he seem less scary now?" Zack asks, hands on his hips as he proudly leads her out of the office. He shoots a thumbs up at the camera, and Reno starts streaming the security feed to Sephiroth's office, having replaced the last couple minutes with the great sock race of last year.
"A little," Aeris admits, taking Zack's hand and swinging it as they race to the elevator to catch the show. "But why didn't he wake up?"
"Because it's naptime," Zack says as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "Duh."
Some unspecified amount of time later, Hojo awakens and upon finding his labcoat replaced with an elaborately designed wedding dress, called a lab assistant in to help him into it. Stories below, in Sephiroth's office, the cackling began.
Though some say, a few felt bad for the poor assistants who got caught up in the crossfire. Touching Hojo was like willing submitting one's self to contamination.
Thanks to all who have read and continued to read, and a very special thanks to all that have reviewed. Even though I have been lax in answering, I do appreciate every comment. Thank you.
