Kissing Games

"I'll say your name. For a price."

"Who do you think you are, the Dimension Bitch?"

"Every time I say your name—correctly—you have to give me ... a kiss."

"What?!"

"Take it or leave it. Kurogane."

Kurogane glared. But, he leaned down and gave Fai a quick, chaste kiss.

"Hmm. That was okay—for a start. But I'll expect future payments to improve in quality."

"You have no idea how close I am to killing you right now."

"Any time you want me to stop, I will."

Kurogane wondered if he had just sold his soul to the devil.

-----

It didn't take long for Kurogane to renegotiate the terms of their deal.

First rule: singing his name over and over again didn't count, no matter how pretty Fai insisted the tune was.

Second rule: unless it was his full name, not "Kuro", it didn't count—even with the proper honorifics.

Third rule: his name had to be used in conversation or as a direct address, not said randomly, or it didn't count.

Fai added the fourth rule: since "Kurogane" was "such a long name", kisses in payment should last at least as long as his name took to say.

-----

"Fifty-nine."

Kiss.

Kurogane should have known that Fai would keep exact count.

"Sixty."

Kiss.

Kurogane knew this because he kept count as well. He knew better than to not expect the wizard to try to slip a few extra kisses in.

"Sixty-one."

Kiss.

"Okay. We're done."

"No, we're not!" Fai grabbed onto his shirt. "You owe me sixty-three."

"I only counted sixty-one."

"I said your name twice to Syaoran-kun this afternoon. You know, he looked at me funny."

"You're not used to that by now?"

"You can ask him, if you like."

"No. I believe you."

"Sixty-two."

Kiss.

"Sixty-three."

Kiss.

-----

For once, Fai had a sour expression on his face.

"I don't know why you complain about how I say your name when you have yet to say mine even once."

"You want me to say your name?"

"Do you even remember what it is?"

"I'll make you a deal. For every time I say your name ..."

Kurogane meant to say, "it will cancel one kiss I owe you."

What Kurogane heard himself say was, "you owe me a kiss."

Fai brightened instantly. "Deal!"

And Fai kissed Kurogane enthusiastically.

"Idiot. I haven't said your name yet."

"I'm paying in advance."

-----

"Fai."

Fai leaned over and kissed Kurogane's cheek absently, barely breaking his eyes away from the book in his lap. "Hm?"

"Fai."

Again a quick, preoccupied kiss. "Yes?"

"Fai." Said pointedly, and with annoyance.

Fai looked up at the ninja sitting next to him on the couch, finally realizing. "Oh." He grinned. "Kurogane."

Kurogane turned, pulling the mage closer to him, and gave him a kiss that lasted much longer than it took to say his name. Fai threw his legs over Kurogane's lap, and the book fell to the floor.

Quietly, "Fai."

Kiss. "Yes?"

"I've lost count."

"Me too."
