Notes: I've had this idea floating in my head for awhile. Basically the kingdom of light is almost a false utopia which is highly controlled by the government. This will be a Riku/Sora and Axel/Roxas. Many characters will come along the way. Each kingdom has different rules of society. You'll be confused at first, but it will be explained throughout the story with the help of Roxas. I might add notes to clear up some things, just in case. There will be a lot of 'angst', but there will be some happy parts too. This AU revolves around the whole heartless, light, and nobody KH idea. The keyblade does exist, along with Organization XIII. Some things have been modified to fit the story better. FF's spacing has been bugging me so much.

There have always been three kingdoms, light, darkness and nothing. In the kingdom of light, all is prosperous. There is no such thing as pain, poverty, and sadness; so they say. In the kingdom of darkness all is horrible. The people of darkness are wicked, rash, and uncontrollable. Their people suffer constantly due to poverty and injustice. In the kingdom of nothing, people can not feel. There are no such things as friends, love, sadness, or joy. This is the worst kingdom of all to live in.

Do you remember that story, Sora? The one about the girl of light and the boy of darkness? I read it once in a light child's grammar school book.

Why aren't you hurt by my light? You're darkness!

Once there was a boy of darkness who was ordered to kill a girl of light. The girl's light power was so strong, it hurt the boy of darkness to be near her. Yet he was so entranced by her beauty and her natural goodness; he decided to save her instead, and she thanked him.

I remember it; do you think that will happen to us Riku?

I thought darkness was bad, but light is the true hell. How can you live like that?

They fell in love, but the boy of darkness could not look too long or get too close to her since the light hurt his eyes and body.

No, it's just a story. We will never be separated; I will not allow it to happen.

We can escape this imprisonment; the separation of light and darkness! You and me!

The only way to be around her was to get rid of his eyes, so he removed his eyes to be near her. Even after removing his eyes, he still felt pain but it wasn't as much. She was sad the boy of darkness removed his eyes yet he still was in pain.

Who do you think suffered the most? The boy of darkness or the girl of light?

Even though your heart is light, and mine is dark; our hearts are one.

She felt guilty for being too light, causing him pain. She decided to taint her pure heart by letting a heartless come in contact with it. The girl of light thought this would solve all their problems, and they could live happily ever after.

The girl of light, she must of blamed herself for what happened.

We will always find each other. Even if we are reborn, our love won't die by darkness or light!

When she did this, she couldn't control the heartless. The heartless ate her heart and left her as a shell. When the boy of darkness had discovered what happened, he swallowed himself in even more darkness. He became so dark that the darkness consumed his body and killed him.

I think the boy of darkness suffered the most, since he couldn't see her one last time.

I'll find Sora with my heart, I don't need my eyes.
