Captivated

She captivated him, in every way possible. Her eyes, her smile, her hair, her laugh…they were all beautiful and he couldn't stop thinking about them.

He knew it wasn't wise to fall in love, especially when they had such a big mission ahead of them and the state of the world as it was. He could not risk losing Sephiroth just to spend time with her.

But then, he would watch as she walked around the group, checking to see if they were injured from any battles that day. Always healing them before herself. He had never met anyone so unselfish before in his life. He had never met anyone who had cared enough to ask him if he was okay whenever he stared off in the distance.

Though Tifa claimed to be his childhood friend, sometimes he thought it strange that she wasn't there half the time. In fact, now that he thought about it, he couldn't remember much about their childhood, except the promise.

"Cloud? Are you okay"

He looked up, blinking in surprise of having zoned out again. The brunette before him tilted her head to the side, a small, amused smile on her face.

"Is anybody in there?" She teased, poking his head playfully. The blonde batted her hand away, throwing a small smile at her.

"I'm fine," he answered quietly.

"Really? That injury on your arm tells me different," she replied, glancing down at the large cut on his arm. He looked down at where a monster had attacked him and shrugged.

"It's nothing," he insisted, moving his arm away from her touch. She scowled before she lunged forwards and grabbed his hand, pulling his arm towards her.

"I'll decide if it's nothing," she hissed in annoyance. He felt a little guilty and surprised at getting her angry. He had never seen her lose her temper before and he knew it was because of his stubbornness.

"Hmmm, you're lucky. This isn't too bad." she muttered as she pulled away. "You don't need anything major. It'll heal by itself." She stood up, brushing the dried dirt off her faded pink dress. She threw a small smile at him before whispering goodnight and heading into her tent.

He watched her enter the tent, zipping up the entrance to keep the warmth in before he glanced down at his healing arm.

Her touch, her caring nature, her soft voice…they were all beautiful and he couldn't stop thinking about them.

She captivated him in every way.
