Brennan shimmied into the tight black dress and looked at the stranger reflected in the mirror. It hugged her curves and slim waist perfectly and it amazed her that Booth had known it'd be just right. A deep red flush spread from the top of her chest just above the dress to her cheeks when she saw how Booth would see her.

Before she realized her own insecurities, her palms were sweating and an acidic bile had risen up in her throat. Suddenly the hem seemed too low and she wanted to wrap herself in the familiar cotton comfort of her lab coat. Everything about his strong masculine scent and powerful yet playful presence made her feel on edge. One slip and she'd fall into his warm embrace and into oblivion.

The stinging aroma of disinfectant usually restrained her before she indulged in primal needs and ruined the friendship, partnership, and trust that had grown between them. Without any type of barrier the need to reach out and feel the rough stubble of his chin against her palm would be undeniable. She hesitantly reached for the door and swallowed down her fear and urges, like things always went.

It wasn't a surprise when his eyes roamed her body hungrily, but it did nothing to stop the pool of warmth that formed in the pit of her stomach. She attempted to be nonchalant, as if it meant absolutely nothing that he hadn't inhaled since she'd exited the bathroom.

The ringing phone echoed shrilly through the silent hotel room, and she was grateful for the excuse to get away from the temptation he presented. Yet even the reassurance of science did nothing as Booth reached for the slipping zipper of her dress. The warmth radiated from his fingers and left her dizzy with desire. She could not make sense of Cam's words despite their importance. He uttered "hot" and her world nearly collapsed around her. It was not rational for strong knee bones to melt with a simple word, but somehow he made it happen.

In an instant she became exhausted of denying her attraction. The phone call ended and she turned around and looked deep into his slightly hazy chocolate brown eyes. She decided that for tonight she'd give in with the reassurance of the costume and character. If things went too far and she slipped she could always place the blame there. For once in her tightly wound and carefully planned life she intended to have fun.

Booth moved his hand in front of her face and playfully nudged her in the shoulder. "Earth to Bones. You still alive inside those thoughts of yours?" She grinned and tossed his hat at him as she approached the door.

The accent was the final touch "Come on Tony, ya ready to knock 'em dead?" Brennan smirked and pulled him by the arm into the dimly lit hallway.

"Well I know you are," he muttered. She felt his eyes on her ass, so she twisted her hips a bit more than usual to indulge him. This new person she had become for this charade was a bit intimidating, but it was only temporary. They'd go back to D.C. and everything would be exactly how it was. It was almost disturbingly routine, but for now it was only about their "vacation" in Vegas.

"What'd you say Darlin'?" She spoke the words sensually, as though they were velvet.

"Oh nothing Snookums. Let's get this show on the road, shall we?" As she wrapped her arm around his and they walked the remaining feet to the elevator, she silently thanked Cam for giving them this assignment. An opportunity in disguise.
