Naruto has had two kisses in his life. The first was an accident. It was also with a boy. He'd been perched on Sasuke's desk when he'd been knocked and lost his balance. He fell forward, his lips pushed against the Uchiha's. Both boys had froze as their lips met, each stealing the other's first kiss. Sasuke hadn't seemed to mind as much as Sakura or the gang of girls that had chased him round for hours afterwards, swearing vengeance.

His second kiss had come while he lay in hospital, recovering from summoning Gamabunta, the chief toad and trying to prove himself a worthy master.

Sakura had entered his room the night before he'd woken up with Shikamaru in his room. She sat by his bedside and told him everything that had been going on in the village and talked about things of no importance, struggling to keep the one sided conversation going. Eventually she had given up. She leant over and kissed him. Square on the lips. The soft touch of warm lips pressed gently against his own had roused him from his slumber, but by the time he'd opened his eyes he only saw Sakura's back as she walked off.

Naruto's second kiss had awoken him. In more ways then one. He'd thought of Sakura often. Usually wondering what it would be like to kiss her and how it would be different from kissing Sasuke.

There was one difference as far as he could tell. The butterflies weren't there. When he'd kissed Sasuke, even though it was by accident, his stomach had fluttered as though a butterfly had formed a million shadow clones within it. With Sakura he had enjoyed the softness of her lips, less rough and coarse than the Uchiha's, but there had been no fluttering.

He sat silently in a tree, contemplating his predicament. He decided that either Sakura was the problem or he was. Either Sakura wasn't a very good kisser, or her didn't want to be kissed by her. He decided it was probably the latter. Which led him to his next problem. Who did he want to kiss?

Sasuke was out of the question, although Naruto had secretly enjoyed his first kiss, they hated each other's guts and his lips were too coarse. As he looked up at the clouds the answer came to him. He looked down in to the long grass and sure enough a lone figure lay in it, their attention completely focused on the sky.

Naruto leapt from the tree, ambushing the lone ninja. The boy was usually strong and planning ahead out of tricky situations, but after being caught off guard and having Naruto's weight plummeted on him from above, he had no chance to react. Naruto crushed his lips against the other boys and felt the fluttering in his stomach return. It increased ten-fold as the boy kissed him back.

Shikamaru's lips were soft like Sakura's, and the way his lips moved against Naruto's and his hands gripped his jacket, pulling him closer, sent shivers down his spine and caused eruptions in his stomach.

Naruto gasped for air as he pulled away, a dreamy expression on his face as he sat straddling the Chunin. Shikamaru's expression remained neutral for a few moments until his fist flew up and connected with the other boy's jaw, sending him sprawling back. "Idiot." He muttered and returned to his cloud gazing, his energy spent.

Fin.
