Perfect day
The two lovers raced toward the apple tree. They collapsed under the blossoming branches. Laughter seemed to fill the crisp afternoon air.
The raven haired beauty laid her head upon her love's chest she could feel the strong beat of his heart. She looked into his gentle eyes and spoke in almost a whisper. "This was my favorite place growing up my brother, Gerard and I would race to this tree and pick its apples then race home our arms filled. My mother would pretend to be cross then end up laughing at our disheveled appearance."
Her voice started to quiver as she spoke; her love leaned down and gently kissed her forehead. "You do not have to talk about it if you do not want to."
She gave her love a smile, "I wanted to come here it is part of my life and you said you wanted to know what it was like for me growing up."
He placed his hand gently upon her chin and brought it up to meet his lips once their lips parted he looked deep into her eyes. "Thank You Jacqueline, for bringing me here."
Jacqueline nodded and began to blush at the great attention she was receiving. Her love rose to his feet and placed his hand up to help Jacqueline upon her feet She eagerly accepted and was standing upon her own feet she smoothed her light blue dress to remove any wrinkles. Her love placed a brown blanket upon the ground and knelt to smooth it out.
Jacqueline got out a bottle of wine she had bought in Paris and was attempting to open it when her love reached around her waist and took the bottle out of her grasp. He opened the bottle with what seemed to be skilled hands in her eyes. She gave him a smirk, "I thought you said you have never been on a picnic before."
He let out a chuckle, "I may have never been on a picnic before, but I have opened a bottle of wine before."
Jacqueline's eyes shined as she looked upon the man who stood before her. Her heart began to race as he took her into his arms and helped her upon the blanket. She opened the basket and placed the meat and cheese upon the blanket her love took out a small knife and began slicing the food. She looked up at him her heart seemed to melt every time she looked into his eyes. He placed the food upon a small dish Jacqueline had brought along. Soon they started to feed each other the bites of food and sipping the sweet wine.
Jacqueline looked into the eyes of her love "Thank you for coming here with me." The young man gave her a loving smile. "I would go anywhere you ask me to go. Have you thought about what I asked you?"
She let out a small sad sigh, "I do love you, but I fear if I became your wife I will lose you as I have lost all of my other family. Do you think me weak for fearing your loss?"
Her love took her hands into his own and looked into her eyes, "I will wait forever if I must for you to be my wife. I do not think you weak; I think you are the strongest person I know."
Jacqueline began to run her fingers through his short hair. "Thank you, I am so happy you understand my reasons."
He let out a deep sigh, "I love you Jacqueline nothing is going to change that. I do desire to be part of your life but I will not force my love upon you. I will never leave your side no matter the danger, you are my heart. I know it does not make sense but when you are in pain I feel your pain when you are happy I feel your joy. Never in my life have I known this feeling. I love you Jacqueline and I will never leave you."
Jacqueline placed her arms around her love. "I love you too, Siroc"
