His face is a mask. Hidden and yet the emotions are played through. Like drama, the theatre. Something she could care less about. But this is it, life, every day. There and on his face. In her face.
Today she wants a look. Wants him to take on a different role. Off with the mask, out on stage and in the spotlight.
Why know so much and yet care so little?
"You'd think that, after all this time, he'd trust us. His own team. His own team!" Sakura screams so solidly.
Careful now, someone might hear that.
"I do trust you, which is why you should be concentrating on your training more."
She ceases fire at the husk of a log. The Teacher is watching and scoring and noting. In his mind, is she a grade? As he stands, upside down with his toes curled around the tree, what does he look at, with his naked eye? Does he have an answer to why?
"Kakashi-Sensei! Why have you not shown us your face? Your entire face."
He falls, drops, gracefully. She continues punching and practicing. His hair doesn't change as he moves. Her's is messy and so bright. His is colorless.
"My, you are blunt."
There isn't anything. No novel in his large hand, no expression. No feelings in her fists.
She continues. He continues staring. Is it watching closely? Every detail? Is he waiting for failure?
As the time changes, so does Sakura. She grows tired and begins to go. Descending slowly, knowing that he is still there, un-moved. Does his face ever change?
After dark and she falls. Too much, too proud. She awakens after midnight and he is there now. His face so close to her's. She wants to close her eyes and breathe. Imagine. But she knows he's seen her eyes. Both of them.
"You're alright, don't worry. You just fainted. You pushed yourself too hard."
What a show off.
"Thanks, but I really didn't need that," She stares intensely. The longest "blinking" contest she has ever had.
"The lecture?" He will not lose in front of one of his team.
She peers through. "No, the rescuing."
This is a surprise, even to him. The copy-cat sits back and the brightest student sits up. If she has learned well, and she has, she has done it. Caught him off guard and there, now she knows. Nose and a pair of lips. His and her's. And her feet running.
Sakura may be bright, but she still hasn't learned that Kakashi never loses.
Hur HUR is it just me or is Sakura so fun to pair off? THUS I want to write her off with everyone. Yipee :D
NARUTO isn't mine. Duur.
