The Gift

A/N: I don't support GaaHina, but I do like it!
The wind carried a couple of leaves on it's gentle breeze as a lone figure sat down on the ground. Gaara's eyes were closed as the wind blew softly against his pale skin, the leaves swooshing around elegantly.
Gaara opened his eyes. "Who's there?" he asked in his usual emotionless voice. Hinata stood just a few feet away, her cheeks blushing a bright red. Hinata was always shy around people, and Gaara was no excuse.
"I um...c-came to...deliver a um,...package f-for...y-you." Hinata looked down at the brown package that was lying against her chest. Gaara didn't get up. Actually, Gaara didn't move a muscle. He just sat there, emotionless as ever, a blank expression plastered on his face.
"Um," Hinata began. "t-this is..is for...you..." Hinata held the neatly wrapped package up in the air, hoping Gaara would get up and thank her, or do something besides sitting there, looking evil and very creepy.
"This...i-is..f-for you..." Hinata nervously, and very carefully, walked towards Gaara. Her heart began pounding in her chest as thoughts of blood and death raced through her mind. Gaara was dangerous, and messing with him could result in death, but she had to do it. If she didn't, then she'd never get over it. It was just one of those things you have to do.
"T-this is f-for yo--" "I don't need it." Gaara said dully. Hinata stopped, her fingers digging into the package she was holding. "Oh..." she murmered. "But...it is...a present..." Hinata muttered lightly.
Gaara turned around, a curious look on his face. "A present? From who?" Hinata dug deeper into the package, a nervous feeling churning in her stomache.
"It's from..." Hinata bit her lip. She walked quickly over to Gaara, and dropped the present on the ground. The present made a loud thud as it hit the ground, and Gaara watched as Hinata quickly walked away, her cheeks blushing as red as a rose.
I guess that package trick didn't work...Last time I ask Naruto-kun for a good present hider. I didn't want him knowing, but I guess it's too late, now. Maybe next time... Hinata thought silently to herself.
As soon as Hinata left, Gaara had picked up the package. Slowly, he began ripping it open, leaving the large peices of paper lying on the ground.
Tenderly, Gaara held his present up to his face. It was a silver necklace, and it had the Sand Village's symbol dangling off the chain.
Gaara cocked his head from side to side in confusion. He looked back down at his present and saw a note lying underneath all the shredded paper. Picking it up with one hand, Gaara read what it said:
I hope you like your present.
I brought it just for you.
Sorry, But I don't really know your name.
Could you please tell me?
I would be really happy if you did.
Happy Birthday,
Hinata Hyuuga
P.S. Would you like to go out?
A crazy smile spread across Gaara's face as a fluttering feeling jumbled around in his stomache, and for a spilt second, Gaara thought he was going to be sick. "I'd love too..." he sliently whispered as he stared at the note, that crazy smile grower bigger and bigger.
Love. Gaara thought to himself. So this is what love feels like...I like it...
For once in his life, someone had actually remembered his birthday.
A/N: If you didn't get what Hinata was doing, then please fell free to ask me. It's a bit complicated to write in the story, since I couldn't find anywhere to put it.Once again, please review! Flames/suggestions/comments are appreciated!
