The lies I tell myself,
Can be so descriptive.
I guess after a while,
It becomes a bit addictive.

Tomorrow, Iruka tells himself, Kakashi will turn in his mission report. It's been three days since he got back, after all.

Tomorrow, he says to himself, when he lopes into the room, slouched and looking utterly bored, Iruka will accept his rumpled, disorderly papers with a polite smile. He'll ask Kakashi to please wait ten minutes or so until his shift is over, so they can privately discuss his next mission. Of course the jounin will know he's lying, so the odds he'll leave will be lowered considerably, due to his curiosity. Kakashi isn't nosey, but Iruka knows this will perk his interest.

Tomorrow, Iruka tells himself, he will wait until his shift is over, and find a quiet, private place to take Kakashi to. He will seductively lead Kakashi there, and he will kiss him, and damn him, Kakashi will like it!

Tomorrow, Kakashi will turn in his pathetic excuse for a mission report three days late, and Iruka will accept it with a polite smile. He won't, however, ask Kakashi to wait for his shift to end. No, tomorrow he will watch that mop of silver hair disappear out of the room like it has every other time he's told himself this same lie.

Tomorrow, he will begin to trudge home, intent on listening to classical music in the dark and sulking before going to bed and telling himself once more he'll do the impossible.

Tomorrow, however, Kakashi will stop him on his way home, and his masked lips will brush Iruka's cheek before there is a nervous laugh, and he proposes ramen somewhere nice.

Tomorrow, Iruka will not tell himself that same old, sweet lie.
Kakashi's lips, he's found, are much sweeter.
