Doodes. How long has it been since I have updated a thing?
I've been so busy with this, that and the other. I guess I partially forgot about fanfiction.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything.
Note: Some of this stuff did happen in chapter whatever it was.
Akito lay sprawled across her creaky, wooden floor. Her hands feathered across a small, silken square.
"Father…" She muttered under her breath as her eyes trailed across the box in front of her face. A cool breeze whipped her hair into her eyes. She sighed as she pushed it away and sat up.
"Kureno!" She called, as she placed the box back in it's hidden place, behind the wallboard near her bedroom door. She heard footsteps.
"Yes, Akito?" Kureno puffed. "What is it?"
Akito rubbed her knees. "It's getting cold in here."
Kureno nodded and walks off down the hall to fetch her a blanket. Akito waited until she could no longer hear footsteps, before she pulled the precious box out from behind the wall again.
She fingered it; touching the lace ribbon and the silken sides. Tears welled in her eyes as she clutched it to her chest and squeezed as hard as she dared to without breaking it.
"…Father-!" She choked out, wiping her eyes and nose on the sleeve of her gown. Suddenly, the door slammed open.
"REN!" Akito gasped, putting the box behind her back and looking up and the deranged woman. Her long, black hair shielded her face as she wielded a knife high above her head.
"Give me back… Akira!" Ren gritted out from behind her teeth. "He belongs to me!"
Akito watched as two maids came from somewhere in the house. Deaf ears heard their panicked calls they made as they tugged on Ren's shirt. But nothing worked.
"Madame Ren!" "You don't belong here!" "It's time to go!" "Madame Ren!"
Akito touched the box from behind with her fingers. All this time, she'd been living off a false hope that this box could save her. That this box would help her though tough times. All this time she's been deluding herself. She smiled sickly as she handed the box to Ren, without a sound.
"Akira, my darling Akira!" Ren cooed as she rubbed the box against her cheek. "Everything that is Akira's belongs to me!"
Akito closed her eyes slightly and shook her head as Ren fought with the ribbon to open it.
"What's in the box?"
Silence.
"I said, what's in there!"
Akito didn't reply. She just watched as her mother finally won the battle with the ribbon and threw off the lid. Ren's eyes widened.
All this time, she'd been living off a false hope…
The box was empty.

So, what did you think?
Was it alright?
