The night was cold and rather humid but Chase didn't mind. He was finally able to leave that dreadful hospital (and House's unbearable cockiness) behind and relax, if only for a few minutes. Standing for a moment to gaze around and just let the air calm his nerves, he hadn't seemed to notice the sky rolling in clouds.

Leaning back against the wall, he turned his gaze as one of the glass doors opened and revealed a rather tired looking James Wilson. Seems they were both happy to escape the place for a little bit.

"Long night, eh?" A small smirk started over Chase's lips.

Wilson might've been startled, but he hid whatever shock might've shown through when he turned on his heel and gazed at the Australian.

"You could say that, yes. How'd you manage to get out of House's sight?" The brunette moved to lean against the wall near Robert.

"A little game of hide 'n' seek in the lab and exam rooms. The usual." Shrugging, Chase finally looked up as a drop of moisture pattered against his cheek.

"I wouldn't expect any less. I s'pose it's the only way you can get some time to relax. Well, save for your obsessive crossword figuring…" A smirk plastered itself over Wilson's lips as he gave the blonde a nudge with his elbow. The Australian merely rolled his eyes and allowed himself to lean against Wilson a little.

"Don't bash the crosswords, now. They're the only way to really kill time." By then, the rain was looking as though it was going to start a steady pattern. "We should probably head in."

"Why, because of a little rain? It's only water. Good 'ol H2O."

"I'd much prefer to stay dry, if that's all right. If I'm going to have to stay at work for another few hours, I'd at least like to be comfortable."

Obviously a little flustered, the blonde pushed away from the wall, making movements towards the door. In mid-stride, however, Chase was stopped by a firm hand clasped around his wrist. Turning with blues wide, he opened his mouth to protest but found he was being pulled out into the parking lot.

"James, what're you…doing?"

"Teaching you to enjoy a little rain here and there. It's good for you."

Before Chase could protest, the rain started falling heavily and Wilson pulled the other in close against him. Arms locked around the Australian's waist and the other's arms fell over the oncologist's neck accordingly.

"You're a hopeless romantic and we're getting soaked." Chase refused to admit that the cool droplets felt good against his skin and that, maybe, just maybe, he was enjoying the rain.

"You're right but I'm not complaining."

Robert merely rolled his eyes and moved in time with the soft hiss of the rain. With foreheads pressed together, they let the water fall over them, finding nothing but one another and the rain as they danced beneath the curtain of water. When lips met for a soft kiss, the two smiled, hair plastered into their eyes and against their faces but the calm between them was one that could not be broken.

"See? It's not so bad."

Rolling his eyes again, Chase rested his head against Wilson's shoulder, taking in Wilson's scent that had been mixed and mingled in with that of the rain. All he knew was that it was a good thing to dance in the rain now, and he knew, someday, they'd have to do it again.
