Okay. So I dig into the heart of a pine tree, and this is what comes out. Not fluff, but still sappy. Kinda short and choppy. So here you go. Completely random, not-very-well-written, sappy oneshot. Well? Read it. (lol. jk.)
Disclaimer: I am James Patterson- NOT! Ergo, I don't own it.

The Voice is so freakin' annoying. And, I hate to say this, but so is my Flock.
Nudge wouldn't shut up, Gazzy kept farting, Iggy was being sullen and sarcastic, Fang was glaring at me, and Angel kept trying to "convince" me to go back to Disney World. Total was asleep, thank goodness.
Oh yeah, and the Voice was monologuing about my, quote on quote, "destiny." I just couldn't take it all- have you ever felt like that?
So I took a deep breath, said "I'll be back," and took off. At super-speed.
Flying that fast helps. As I watched the landscape below shoot past me, I did some thinking. Like, thinking that I've never let myself think before... if that makes sense. I didn't really need to constantly be with them, did I? Fang nearly led the Flock anyways. And, on the logical side, if I had a tracker chip, I was only endangering them.
I didn't have to go back.
The realization hit me like an anvil.
Let's see, I had flown for about five minutes. About 20 miles. I could do it.
The pain came suddenly. I nearly blacked out- and I really couldn't see anything. My wings couldn't move. The wind whistled in my ears and through my feathers.
Your family is important, Max.
I was plummeting toward the ground, with absolutely no one to catch me. No one was there. Through my own stupidity, I had left them all behind. Because I thought I could do it alone.
I screamed, once, from the very depths of my soul. The pain in my head grew, when suddenly...
Arms around me? Had I died? Was I hallucinating? I cracked open my eyes and looked up into the face of Fang.
His emotions were scribbled all over his face. Relief. Worry. Anger. "You need us, Max, no matter what you may think," he said tightly. "And we need you."
I started crying softly. "I'm sorry, Fang. So sorry." Then the oddity of the situation struck me. "How... why? I was flying faster than you can!"
He gave me a grim smile. "I've got your blood, remember? 'Give it a week and you'll be flying like the Concorde.' Seems you were right."
I grinned at him. He dropped me. I did a flip, spread my wings, and came up beside him in a tight corkscrew spin. Fang rolled his eyes. "Showing off? Well, then, catch me!"
We flew in tandem at super speed, doing crazy stunts together while still heading in the direction from which we came. On the horizon I could see Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy, and Angel. I smiled.
I belong with them.

Okay, it wasn't as bad as it was originally. Whenever I type a story up (I write it down first, usually) I make changes to it and make it longer. ANOTHER ONESHOT! That's practically all I write. Except for Rain, if you want me to continue it. And the story about the girl. Which I still don't have a title for, so I'm not posting any yet. But I've written 13 oneshots! I declare myself the queen of the oneshots.. lol I'm not that conceited. :P
So yeah. Review, as usual.
