He felt the scrunch of gravel underfoot, heard the huffs of his own labored breathing. Ducking, the fugitive darted off the graveyard path and between the straggling headstones. He knew his pursuer was close – an agent of justice, but one bent on revenge.
A sudden noise alerted him. Spinning, he dodged. Too late! Struck in the chest, the fugitive cried out, "Hey –"
"Got'cha!" The pursuer smugly regarded the spreading stain on his victim's shirt. "Haven't lost me touch, after all, have I?"
"Not with a water pistol, anyway. Bet was takeaway, wasn't it?
"Yeah. My choice, your quid, mate!"
