I watch the angel in front of me sleep. Her head is lying next to her teddy she got at the hospital. Her first teddybear.

Almost as pretty as she is.

Her eyes are closed but I know exactly how they look like. I have done almost nothing the last few days but looking at her, while she's asleep, crying, eating... I watch her instantly.

I seriously can't take my eyes from her.

She's so beautiful.

She's so perfect.

Before she came along, I didn't think anyone could be this perfect.

She truly is a perfect mix of me and Ross. She has my blue eyes, but everyone thinks they will be brown when she's a bit older. She has Ross' mouth, although he insists her mouth is just like mine. I don't know.

'Hi' a familiar voice says behind me.

'Hello' I whisper and put a finger on my mouth, telling him to keep it down a little. She's still fast asleep but I don't want to wake her up just yet. I learned my lesson the other day. 'Where have you been?' I tear my eyes from my daughter for a while, and I look at him.

'At the coffee house. I brought you a muffin.'

'Thanks' I smile and look down at Emma again.

Silence.

'She's beautiful, isn't she?' He whisper.

'She really is.' I smile.

'She looks just like you, Rach'

He always knew the right things to say. He always had perfect answers or, like at this moment, a perfect complement. He knew my daughter was the most important thing in my life right now, and he knew that the complement he just gave me, that I look just like her, would made me teary.

He was right.

I look at him.

'Really?' I whisper very quietly.

'Are you serious? Of couse she looks like you, Rachel. She's gorgeous.'

I smile.

There's a small silence again.

'I don't love him.' I whisper. I'm not even sure if I was supposed to say it out loud.

'I know.'

'You do?' I gaze into his brown eyes.

He nods. 'Yes.'

I think for a moment before I ask.

'Ross?'

'Yes?'

'Do you know that I love you?' I say it like I would have said it six years ago. When we said 'I love you's' pretty much every day. I didn't think. I just said it. And I meant what I said. I always do.

He looks at me. 'I know.' He smiles weakly.

'I love you too, y'know.'

I can't do anything but smile and continue to do what I have been doing for the past few days now.

I look at my daughter.

Silence.

'She should be up soon' I whisper.

Ross nods. 'Yeah. Before that, you should try to get some sleep.' He looks at me.

'I'm fine.' I say but I know he knows I'm tired as hell.

'Please. Don't worry, I'll take care of her if she wakes up.'

I nod and get up. 'Okay.'

I make my way through the room and when I'm about to go into the bedroom, I turn around and I see him looking at me. 'Thank you, Ross' I say.

He smiles.

I smile.

When I'm in the bedroom, right before I fall asleep I think to myself how lucky I am to be known and loved by the most perfect persons in the world.
