Just a short story I couldn't get out of my head. I think i did an OK job. This is a break from the major writer's block i'm getting for the other stories. Hope you like it.

The young Straw Hat captain looked around his ship, smiling like always. He hopped across the deck and saw Sanji proposing his love to Nami and Robin again. He tilted his head, and put his finger on his chin in thought.

"What's it mean when you say that?" he questioned. He darted off to the men's quarters in search of someone to ask. He looked around the room and found Chopper, working on his Rumble Balls.

"Hey Chopper. I have a question," he asked while approaching the reindeer doctor. Chopper turned around and put down the test tube he was holding.

"What is it Luffy?" he asked. Luffy sat himself down in front of him and made himself comfortable.

"What does it mean to be in love?" he asked while tilting his head. Chopper blinked at him, and scratched his head to think.

"To be in love means…" he began. "It means to care about someone very much." Luffy straightened his head in understanding, but pouted. He didn't think this was enough. He left Chopper to his work and searched for a girl to ask. He found Robin and dashed over to her.

"Robin. What does it mean to be in love?" he questioned once again. Robin looked up with a surprised look and sat back in her chair. She smiled at her captain and leaned toward him.

"To be in love is to have deep, caring emotions for someone you cherish," she answered with a grin afterwards. He looked up with satisfaction this time and leaned forward when Robin sat back in her chair again.

"I see! How do you tell someone you love them? Do what Sanji does?" he inquired. She just smiled at him and told him to think about it. He left her to read, and looked up at the crow's nest. He spotted Zoro's green hair, grinned broadly, and shot up towards him.

"Zoro!" he called. Startled, he spun around to see Luffy rocketing towards him. They collided and Zoro yelled at him.

"Luffy! Don't do that again! Don't you think before you do something?" Luffy smiled brightly at him, and the swordsman couldn't help but smile back. Luffy sat next to his first mate as he put his arm around the captain's shoulders. He didn't know why he did that, but Luffy didn't seem to mind at all, snuggling a little close to him. He looked at the sky and asked the same question again.

"Zoro. What does it mean to be in love?" he asked with a slight smile. Zoro blushed at the him and thought.

"It's when you care a lot about someone you really like," he answered, a little uneasy from the sudden question.

"How do you tell someone you love them?" questioned Luffy, who was leaning on Zoro's shoulder. Zoro thought again and turned to his captain.

"Well, you can do a number of things. You can be close to them," Luffy scooted closer next to Zoro, but he didn't notice. ", look into their eyes with care," Luffy looked up at Zoro with eyes as innocent as an angel. ", then you can tell them you love them and kiss them." Luffy leaned in and closed the small gap between them, his lips meeting Zoro's.

Zoro pulled back to see a smiling Luffy. He was blushing at him, but wanted so much to have his body close to his own. Luffy leaned in again, and whispered into his ear, "I love you, Zoro." Again, their lips met as they embraced each other.

'So this is what it means to be in love.'
