Black Innocence

Over a decade ago, the Potters made Sirius Black a Secret Keeper, for themselves and their young son Harry. There was much debate between Black and the Potters as to who would be most trusted. Black believed that he was the obvious choice for secret keeper and thought that the Dark Lord would come for him immediately. So Black thought it would be more cunning to make Peter Pettigrew the secret keeper. James Potter was convinced this was a good idea, but Lily refused to change her mind and demanded that the Secret Keeper be Sirius Black.

Indeed Lily Potter had made a wise decision, as Peter Pettigrew had been working for the Dark Lord and would have sold them to Him. Having discovered this Sirius Black decided to pay his old school friend a visit, with either full intent on killing him or alternatively talking to him. Either way it wasn't meant ot be as out of fright Peter Pettigrew made a huge show, successfully killing hundreds of muggle around him and making it look as though Black had killed him.

Ever since his imprisonment the Potters stayed away from Black believing he had killed Pettigrew, their old friend out of pure insanity. This motivated Black to prove his innocence to both the Potters (including his Godson), and the public.

Earlier this year Sirius Black made history by escaping Azaban, he still refuses to tell the public about how he escaped but it is believe that he wasn't in a human form. His plans after he escaped was to track down the man who had made him look like a murderer. He soon found his target sleeping in the Gryffindor, Third Year, Boys Dorm, posing as a Ronald Weasley's (Arthur Weasley's youngest son) pet rat, unbeknown to the boy.

When Peter Pettigrew had heard that Sirius Black had escaped Azkaban, he knew why. For the second time Peter Pettigrew faked his own death and ran. At first he tried hiding in places he knew best, often stealing wands so he could return to his human form, to steal food. This was his first mistake as he was spotted a number of times, including by the Potter's themselves. Relising his life was too risky in town he headed back to where he was at the beginning of the year. On Hogwarts grounds, unfortunately for Pettigrew, Black was waiting for him.

All in one night at Hogwarts, Black was made innocent and Pettigrew was captured, Albus Dumbledore refused to have an interview with the Daily Prophet at this point, but there will be other staff members who might let the public in on this hugely covered up secret.

In other related news, Professor Trelawney a divination teacher up at Hogwarts has gone public with big news; she has found a recording of a prophency she had in the 'early days'. The prophency claimed a number of crazy but true stories of the Dark Lord, marking a young child (barely a year old) as an equal. At present not many details have been released; but it does concern Neville Longbottom: The boy who lived and Harry Potter.
