First Kiss

Disclaimer: I don't own HSM.

She smiled at me from across the cafeteria. I smiled back at her. She turned away quickly as Taylor tapped her on the shoulder. I looked back at Chad who had a satisfied smirk on his face.

"What?" I asked.

"What base are you at now?" He replied.

That was something I definitely had not expected. I sighed. "Why do you want to know?"

He raised an eyebrow at me. "I'm your best friend, you tell me everything. Now spill."

"I don't know if I want to tell…"

He crossed his arms over his chest. "I've told you about everything Taylor and I have done."

"Which I really don't want to hear, Dude."

"Stop stalling and just tell me."

I hesitated, looking back at Gabriella. She was still talking to Taylor about something that seemed… Important? Was that the right word to describe it? I don't even know. I looked back to Chad and said, "We haven't even kissed yet, okay?"

Chad bit his lip, trying to keep himself from laughing. "You're joking, right? Pulling a fast one on me?"

I sighed. "No… Every time I've tried to kiss her, we're interrupted. Like after the big game when you interrupted me."

Chad's eyes darted around. "Sorry, Dude."

"I want to kiss her. So badly. But when I get up the nerve, something just happens."

He punched my arm. "Do it now."

I looked at him with wide eyes. "What?"

"Kiss her when she least expects it. That's how I kissed Taylor our first time."

"Don't go into that."

"Fine, just go over to her and kiss her now."

I hated peer pressure. That's how it had been constantly during the theater fiasco. "Fine, if it will get you to shut up."

"I'll never tell you anything about mine and Taylor's relationship ever again," Chad promised.

I sighed. "For some reason, I don't believe that. But I'll do it." I stood and walked towards Gabriella.

Taylor nudged her with her elbow and Gabriella stood. She walked over to me, the two of us meeting in the middle of the cafeteria. "Hey," she said.

"Hey," I replied. I don't know why, but I was deadly nervous, I could feel the sweat dripping down my back.

"What's up?" She asked, shrugging.

"Nothing much, I ju-" I never got to finish my sentence. Gabriella had leaned in and kissed me.

She pulled away blushing a little. I saw her chest rise as she took a deep breath.

"Um, I gotta go…" I turned around and walked quickly from the room.

Chad came chasing after me. "Dude, you did it!" He called happily.

I turned to face him, making him skid to a stop. "No, Dude, she did," I responded.

He covered his mouth, trying to hold back his laughter.

"It's not funny," I replied.

He removed his hand but I could tell he was still hiding laughter. "Sorry, sorry, but I gotta go." He walked past me, still laughing to himself.

"Troy?" I heard a soft voice ask behind me.

I looked back at Gabriella. "Hey…"

"Are you mad at me?" She asked timidly.

"Why would I be mad at you?" I replied.

She shrugged. "Maybe because I made the first move. I know that guys hate it when girls make the first move but I was just tired of waiting and I-"

I pressed my lips to hers, cutting off her rambling. I pulled away, looking at her. "I don't care who made the first move, just as long as there are more moves in the future."
