Authors Note: O My friggin' Gosh! Wow…I haven't written any poetry in a REALLY long time. This seemed like the perfect thing to write a poem about. So here is my attempt! Some of the parts are hard to follow, sorry if it's a little confusing.

I don't own Danny Phantom.

Quote:

"Excuse me, think I've mistaken you for somebody else
somebody who gave a damn" – Jewel, from the song "Foolish Games"

Somebody Did

She told her what would happen

If she didn't make a move

She warned her ahead of time

The damage it would do

She gave her a fair shot

But now one is in pain

Because she finally let her know

That two could play the game

A battle against each other

Is all it really was

One coming out on top

The other losing someone she loved.

The person who won is dignified

The other got no kiss

There's nothing left to feel for her

While the other feels sweet bliss

And she lives with it every day

Behind her tormented purple eyes

She sees the things they do

They don't see how it makes her cry

She hears what they say to each other

Words that make her go insane

They never even realize

Their love causes her so much pain

And she thought she could have made it

But now she finds out she was wrong

So she lives with just herself

And each day is like a very sad song

The girl told her it would happen

Why didn't she take it seriously?

She ignored her warning

And pushed her feelings aside carelessly

And now she pays the price

Because of what she knew would be

If she didn't make a move

'And now he no longer cares about me'

All the time she wasted

She can never get back again

The ring that sealed their marriage

Bore her away from him

Some say it was only fair

And that she had her fair shot

Some were just as surprised as she

'Who would have thought?'

But now she faces reality

That the man she loves doesn't know

About her undying affection

About a love that was sure to grow

And had it have been her

I'm sure she would've thought

She would have been glad she made a move

For his affection, she would have fought.

But alas, she is not her,

For her name is Valerie Grey

The woman who claims her man

She bore her lover away

And now all she has left is nothing

But to think of what might have been

Worthless thoughts being expressed

By the tears that roll down to her chin

There is always someone who will compete

And try to take your place away

They'll fight for his affection

But thoughts of him will stay

Why she didn't do

The very thing she should have done

That I cannot explain

But he was her only one.

Looks like not anymore

Will she keep him in her sight

Valerie did what she said she'd do.

Valerie won the fight.

"If you don't someone will"

But at these words, Samantha turned, and hid.

"Somebody will"¸ she reminded her

But No – Somebody did.

Hehe…that was fun. I didn't really have to think about it a lot. That's probably the first time I've written a poem that I actually like! And a first time writing a Danny Phantom poem. There's definitely more to come!

Review Please! I'll be your best friend and love you forever!

And if you don't review, I'll pout at you. (cause' that's as mean as I get. ;D)
