A/N: Wow, I can't believe I still have this! I was setting up my PS2 today at my grandmother's and put it in it's usual spot on the floor and then realized there was a paper caught underneath it. And on that paper was my second ever Kurama x Botan attempt: two drabbles. Surprising, considering I wrote it sometime last year and have no idea how it survived on my floor for that long.

They're meant to be read together, so I'll post them together.

Haven
By Bunny-Chan

He was a demon reborn as a human. Being forced to choose between two lives: The one he had loved, and the one watching over the woman he loved. His mother was all that truly kept him where he was- trapped between an old life and a new one. He was a demon thief caught in a lie by an unknowing mortal woman.

She was an immortal being, living forever with no life left inside. She was forced into a job she did not enjoy at all, and seeing so little life was killing her slowly. Behind childlike energy hid a suffering and sorrow of infinite depth. She was the tangible face of Death, bound to life eternal.

Neither of them could truly be sure what had drawn them together that night or any other. Perhaps they'd seen themselves in each other. The suffering. The loneliness. The confusion.

But for whatever reason, they'd each found refuge in the other's soul.

And so Botan and Kurama slept peacefully side by side until morning had come, and even after it had gone.

They'd found their haven.

Forever
By Bunny-Chan

Every night he waited.

Every night she came.

He would nuzzled her neck, taking in her scent of vanilla and winter.

She would kiss him softly, tasting roses.

Sometimes they talked. They spoke of days to come, and days long gone. Him: unsure of which path he would follow into the future- demon or human. Her: unable to truly comprehend how long eternity would last.

More often than not, however, they remained silent, enjoying their peace and serenity.

Death and demon. No one could have foreseen it, and no one would ever guess.

Tomorrow would bring danger and chaos as always, but for now all was safe and sound.

Still and silent.

"Forever, ne?"
"Yes Botan, forever."
