This is a poem based off the Story, "Broken Wings, Broken Songs". (I know that I posted this before Iposted "Broken Wings, Broken Songs, butfor you Lumpus/Slinkman fans, I wanted build anticipation for the real thing.)This shows how Slinkman feels for Lumpus.
Thoughts that don't, shouldn't belong
Are here, they are a part of me
But they melt away, and I can never bring them back.
Incomparable, formless, depth, deep, dark, lost
Silent and mysterious as the cold winds.
In my world, I'm lost, all alone.
Someone call out to me
Calling my name
Love is feeling, watching, holding, touching.
Holding on for dear life, till like a flower It grows
Dying, rising, falling, risen
A dance, elegantly performed.
Love is the graveyard where other romances
Unstable, failing, confused, and pointless
Are graced with death's presence
I can't form words; my thoughts, my mind
They slip through my fingers the moment they leave my head
Lumpus, you do and don't realize
As I don't and do as well
We are two beings, lonely in this world
With nothing to hold as our own, and in the darkness
It tries to take us back
But I want you.
I do really, truly want you.
I want you with my whole being.
As I knew deep in my heart,
that you want me.
So I'll…
I'll raise my hand
I'll fly onward.
I'll watch the blue sky with you.
I'll turn away from sadness, from darkness.
I'll regain what is lost, return for kindness.
In that memory, those dreams of you.
Where light, where my heart belongs.
I'll walk toward that road
Not minding difficulty
I'll stand together with you.
Sunrise, the sun will bring light.
Maybe, the magic is waiting for us there.
I'll hold your hand
as we step forward
and beyond.
As you held my mine.
Our memories, they shine in the light
And our memory, I will keep that light
burning, burning strong
I will turn to the light
I will
I will
