Even at his most grandiose, Yagami Taichi had never dreamed of overthrowing the Japanese government – but Prime Minister Takamori's new digimon policy was just that insane.

Mass deportations, separating people from their partners, just because Vamdemon's latest form had attacked? (And after the self-defense force had failed miserably, it was the digimon that fought him off and everything!) Honestly, signing legislation that would make him lose Agumon again, and do the same to over a million others across Japan? It was just too cruel.

So he reluctantly found himself charging the Diet on Metal Greymon's back, Garudamon and Monzaemon onside, the three valiantly battling the air force and giant robot divisions of the JSSDF as more digimon and troops alike poured into the streets of Tokyo.

And amidst the chaos, he was declaring through a megaphone that he was now the provisional Prime Minister of Japan. He somehow got the feeling this was not exactly what the others intended when they named him leader -- but it had to be done, all the same.

"You're under arrest for treason!"

"On behalf of what government? The only territory you bigots control is half of Tokyo," he bluffed, a quick "Giga destroyer!" shooting down the latest group of warplanes.

He peered upwards, noticing his ever-growing army – Imperialdramon had arrived at last, fighter mode and everything, seeming locked in aerial combat with something called a 'Gundam,' its red lasers exchanging fire with Imperialdramon's blue.

"You can't stop us, not against mecha like these!" the officer shouted, but all it took was one arm-vaporizing blast and Takamori himself left the Diet to raise a white flag.

Taichi smiled, relieved. But now that he was prime minister, some things would change... After all, the digimon deserved an ambassador who cared about their world.
