Hello Everybody! Since my first TLoD poem got so much love, I decided to write another one; this time for Syuveil. I originally wanted to do this in the same style as WindSong, but it just didn't work out that way. It actually came out a little dark. Oh well. This is in Syuveil's POV and is set just before Rose and the others come to free his soul. (If it seems a bit OOC or the rhymes are a bit wonky, I apologize; it sort of wrote itself.) Have fun!

Disclaimer: I do not own Legend of Dragoon or any of the characters within. I do, however, own the poem.

JadeSong

I sit and watch the stars roll by,
across the dark and wind-swept sky.
A candle burning on the desk,
no time to sleep, no time to rest.

A hollow ache inside my chest.

A scroll, uncurled, lays by my side.
Too many nights I've sat and cried.
I've pondered life, I've studied death,
now contemplating my last breath.

I cling to all that I have left.

My tortured spirit cannot leave
this tower's faded memory.
Existence means nothing, I am false.
I lack a heartbeat, blood, a pulse.

I'm nothing but a phantom's host.

This sanctuary's more a tomb.
No hope, it seems, can pierce the gloom.
I seek a light, a saving spark
to drive away the frightful dark.

Bound to this place, my fearful heart.

The threat of madness lingers here,
a constant whisper in my ear.
My dreams devoured by my sorrow,
forever praying for tomorrow.

Inside this prison built from horror.

I hear her footsteps, just outside;
her first visit since before I died.
In my soul, hope starts to swell.
Please, someone free me from my shell.

Rose, come save me from this hell.

- In loving memory of Syuveil,

Once and for always, the Wind Dragoon.
