The reason he Cried

Obito cried a lot more than any ninja should, he knew that. Most people thought he cried because he was scared. He knew those people were wrong.

His team had just returned from a short mission and now he and Rin sat atop the Hokage monument and watched the sunset.

Another misconception people had about him was that he couldn't be quiet. He proved that wrong all the time but nobody noticed, simply because he was being quiet at those times. Right now he sat next to Rin and wathced her. Quietly.

In the light of the setting sun she looked so beautiful, so alive. Most people thought she looked rather plain and ordinary. Obito knew he was the only one to take the time to notice her.

Everyday there were glimpses of her beauty to be seen; the way that everyday, despite the arguments, she refused to take sides with either him or Kakashi. Her warm and honest smile that was always there when he needed it. Her gentle, caring touches as she healed them. The fierce determination on her face when she fought an enemy shinobi.

And the light of the sunset highlighting her hair, her eyes and her skin. The sunset making her smile.

Sometimes Obito was jealous of the attention Rin gave Kakashi, but right now he knew that he had nothing to be jealous of. He was the only one who got to see her true beauty.

She might always love Kakashi, but he would always love her. The people who thought he cried because he was scared were right. He cried because he was scared for her.
