Turquoise earrings dangled lightly from her fingertips in the mirror, a mix of black veined stones and shinning silver. Julia held them up close to her face, her skin a pale mask of foundation, cover-up, and powders. Thickly outlined eyes and full painted red lips. She set the earrings down. Vicious didn't care for earrings and pretty things, he only cared to stay entertained.

He left her no beauty at all, he took it all for himself. He was romantic in a blood and roses kind of way, alluring in that untamable, insatiable revolutionary kind of way. She was the rag doll dragged along at his side. She was nothing next to him, and he knew that. It was just a matter of time before he smiled at her and told her so.

She turned to leave the room, catching the sight of Spike in the doorway. She said nothing, a mask of make-up and fake colors watching him watch her. He made no move for a few seconds, letting ash drop away from his cigarette, before muttering and stepping slowly away, back outside into the rain. "You look nice."
