What's with me and Angst? I guess I haven't been very happy these few days...
I am in no way implying mutual feelings between Hinata/Naruto, Naruto/Sakura, or Sakura/Sasuke. I didn't even put Sasuke/Hinata in here so don't even ask. I'm not here to make a love square.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto. I don't even own this computer I'm surfing the net with. So... yahh...
Warning: No NaruHina, NaruSaku, or SasuSaku, or SasuHina, or any mutual love. Going "OMG Naruto and Hinata should like, get together, totally" is not going to change my mind. Oh, and repetitiveness. And for Naruto or Sakura or Sasuke haters (I noticed there aretechnically noHinata haters), there's barely gonna be any real, harsh bashing.
Observant
By Infinite Inficio
Hinata had always been an observer.
She always watched the blonde boy, and admired him from afar.
She admired his determination, even with the harsh condition he faced.
She knew of his loneliness, hidden by the grin he plastered on his face- so well she could feel it herself.
She knew of the cold gazes given to him by the villagers- so well that she swore they were given to her.
She knew of all his problems- directed towards him were ignorance, underestimation, fear and disgust- so well that they might as well be her own.
She would love to smile at him, and tell him that it was okay- she was going to be by his side; forever.
But she didn't have the courage to do that yet.
All she could do was observe.
Naruto had always been an observer.
His gazes always lingered at the pink-haired kunoichi, and he supported her from nearby.
He supported her- knowing that a lot of potential lies underneath that exterior, contrary to what some said.
He saw her kindness underneath her previous attitude towards him and waited; finally he received it, even though she showed it in a unique way.
He saw her strength underneath her status as "the Protected" and waited; finally she extracted them after training with Tsunade herself.
He saw her intelligence underneath the loving glances she shot at "Sasuke-kun" and waited; finally she put them to good use in strategic missions.
But the only thing he was able to do was assure her he was there, watching her.
All he could do was wait.
Sakura had always been an observer.
She monitored the dark-haired boy whenever she could, thinking of him anywhere she was.
She thought of his dark beauty, yet she pondered about his also dark past as well.
She wondered whether inside that expressionless face, he was screaming with agony, that she even started to pity him.
She wondered whether inside that strong "number one rookie", he was weak, prone to anything, that she even felt the need to guard him from himself.
She wondered whether inside the boy who protected her along with his team mate all this time, he was crying for help, that she wanted to reach in there and save him.
But all she could do was squeal at him, and declare her love to him- it wasn't enough.
All she could do was watch as he drifts away.
Sasuke had never been an observer.
He never looked at what he had- what was the present- only to mourn his losses from the past.
He was always so focused on training- to get stronger- all to avenge the clan.
He was always so keen on killing his own brother- whatever it takes- all to avenge the clan.
He was always so desperate to get rid of the terrible feeling in his chest- he was willing to go to Orochimaru- to get power- and in the end, it all comes down to one conclusion.
He'll do anything to avenge the clan of the past.
All he could do was see himself suffer.
