A/N: I don't know what this is, but it's just a way to pass the time during a study break. Review if you want me to continue!

Disclaimer: The song belongs to the Rembrandts!

"I'm telling you, man, you've got to get over this whole hang-up on the past!" Kai yawned as he typed his daily report on Caamas's rehabilitation. "It's tying you down. And we can't let that happen, can we?"

Brendan shrugged, in no mood to put up with Kai. "Who cares?"

"We do." Kite joined in this time. "And so does Releqy. And Tranni. And every other person here!"

"They see that you're down, and they get down too." Kai pointed out. "You need a vacation!"

"Oh?" Brendan ignored them as much as possible.

"Deidara suggested this great place," Kai wheedled. "It's on Earth, but in a really crowded city where you wouldn't have to see a TRE if you tried. You could stay there for a week or two, relax, calm down, get over everything that's happened…"

Brendan turned to stare at the boy. "Maybe I don't want to get over everything. Maybe I don't want to forget."

"You have to." A quiet voice spoke from the doorway. Tranni Lo Pleen stood stiffly, as frail as she had been since she had returned from the Gold Dimension. "You owe that much to all of Camaas's rebuilders. We're counting on you to be strong for us."

"And this is strength?" Brendan laughed scornfully. "Leaving in the middle of the project? I don't think so!"

"You're going," Kite said firmly. "You're going to this New York City, and you're going to make it your home until we feel you've loosened up."

"Ha!" Ordering me around? But Brendan felt that uneasy feeling he always felt just before he gave in. He would be going. And there was nothing he could do but relax…

"Listen, I've got this great idea!" She burst into the apartment, alive and eager.

"What is it?" he asked her, preparing for another "great idea." Generally, one of her ideas would only end in tears.

"You know how you need a new apartment? Well, why don't you just find a roommate who already has an apartment?"

"I'm doing that now," he pointed out.

She laughed. "You don't even have your own room in this apartment! This isn't exactly the best arrangement you can get!"

He sighed. "Fine, I'll put up some ads. But I'm not seriously considering this!"

She grinned. "Great! I already took care of the ads!"

"Wha-?" But she had already danced out.

The phone rang a moment later, and he picked it up warily. "Hello?"

"Hello- Ross Geller?" The voice sounded foreign- Japanese, maybe? "I understand you're looking for a roommate…?"

So no one told you life was gonna be this way

Your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's DOA

It's like you're always stuck in second gear

When it hasn't been your day, week, your month or even your year

But I'll be there for you

When the rain starts to fall

I'll be there for you

Like I've been there before

I'll be there for you

As you're there for me too…
