I had a sudden urge to do this story cuz Mia reminded me of the spinach Arthur story and well…I felt it had to be written. Reviews are highly appreciated.

Disclaimer: I don't own RENT… but I wish I did.

2 year old Mark Cohen sat in his high chair at the Cohen family dinner table. His 6 year old sister, Samantha Cohen was eating her dinner as though she hadn't eaten in days. But Mark would not eat his dinner.

Now little Marky was a good boy. He always picked up his toys, was nice to his sister, and always always ate all of his dinner. But this particular night he could not. He would not.

The reason for this was that there was a big slimy lump of green stuff on his plate. It looked so disgusting he thought he would barf. He looked around at his parents and sister, shoveling the icky green stuff into their mouths open wide.

'How can they eat that lumpy gross stuff? It actually looks like they're enjoying it! But no, it can't be…' he thought.

"Eat your spinach Marky! It will give you strong bones and teeth!" said his father.

Frankly, Mark didn't care about strong bones and strong teeth. He shook his head at his father to indicate that there was no chance of this disgusting food to go anywhere near his mouth. He just wanted this stuff to get off his plate so he could eat the rest of his yummy, mushed up carrots dinner in peace. No such luck. You see, in the Cohen household, if you didn't eat all of your dinner, you didn't get dessert. And tonight's dessert, was Mrs. Cohen's famous, homemade, Blueberry Pie.

'I love blueberry pie!' thought Mark. 'In fact, blue is my favorite color! And mommy hardly ever makes it!'

He had two choices. It was either eat this disgusting 'spinach' and wash out the horrible taste with the sweetness of mommy's homemade blueberry pie, or not eat his spinach, and sit at his high chair while he watched everyone else eat the pie and smell it's sweet succulent aroma. But would he survive if he tasted the 'spinach'?

He had decided. He would try the horrible smelly seaweed, and risk dying, for the sweet blueberry pie.

If he died, he would give all his toys to Roger, his best friend in the whole world. He was the only one that deserved them. His family defiantly didn't deserve them! Making him eat this stuff, and torturing him with the thought of the sweet pastry…

His hand reached for the 'spinach' and he thought 'Here we go…' his hand touched it. It felt extremely slimy. Ick. He brought it slowly and steadily to his mouth. When it was about two inches away, he thought 'Oh no!' and he shoved it into his mouth.

He chewed…he chewed…he chewed…he swallowed.

'Hey. This isn't so bad.' He thought. As he continued shoveling the warm, juicy spinach into his mouth, his mother said,

"Good boy Marky! Now you can have some pie!"

"No pie! More spinach!" said Mark.

"You're weird!" said Samantha.

"Well…ok Marky. More spinach comin' right up." said Mr. Cohen.

'I think green is my new favorite color' thought Mark.
