disclaimer: I do not own YuGiOh.

Hello mother, what a nice day it's been.

I had a ninety-three on our test last Wednesday but I know I could have done better. I had chocolate mousse at lunch. You loved chocolate mousse, didn't you mother? I played Duel Monsters with Yuugi at the Kame Game Shop before I went home last week. I saw his mother. She was cheering him on like what you did when I would play chess with Daddy after he went home from his digs. Yuugi-kun won again; his mom was very happy. When I played with daddy though, I'd always lose even until today.

I have friends now mother. You're happy to hear that, aren't you? Yuugi-kun is very short but he makes up for that by being the friendliest and most forgiving person I've met. He has a crush on Anzu-chan, a girl who sometimes rants about friendship but she usually means well. She hopes to become an aspiring dancer one day mother, isn't that nice? You always nagged me and Amane about learning the waltz saying it was a fine asset of a lady and a gentleman. Jounouchi-kun is a sometimes rude but very friendly person. He usually argues with Kaiba-kun, who is the young president of Kaiba Corp. Kaiba-kun is also rude to Jounouchi-kun but he is very protective of his younger brother, Mokuba-kun. I look up to him sometimes. He really loves his brother just like I loved Amane. Although, I didn't protect her as well as Kaiba-kun protects his brother. Honda-kun is another friend but we are not very close. He is loves to eat just like Jounouchi-kun and he is very loyal.

I have another…friend so to speak of mother, although we are not close. He is Bakura-sama. Bakura-sama is not very friendly nor is he very forgiving. He usually fights with Yuugi-tachi. He is easily angered and I do not see him very much. But he is very ambitious, courageous, determined, and strong willed. Although the plans he usually puts into action aren't very helpful to other people, the way he never gives up is something that I look up to him for. He would never give up and he would usually look to a certain positive side if his plans fail. I both admire and hate him for not abandoning his dreams. As dark his dreams may be.

Daddy isn't here. He's in India right now. I'm sorry for not telling him to go here. I know you would have liked him celebrating this day with us. I know you miss him; I miss him too. He hasn't returned home yet for months. Sometimes I would call him or he would call me and we would talk about school, about the house, about each others' lives, and sometimes about you and Amane. It would be as if he was never at India, China, Arabia, or any other place. It would be as if he was just there at home. What ever was left of home anyway.

I really miss you mom. I love you.

On a windy Sunday, passer-by might have seen a white-haired teenager placing a bouquet of pink and white roses next to a beautifully carved headstone. The bouquet came with a card; written in an elegant scrawl was: Happy Mother's Day.
