I do not own anyone mentioned in this story. Everything except the pub belongs to LJ Smith

A pub just outside of some town housed some of the strangest characters around. Vampires and humans mingled alongside werewolves and witches.
Psychics from around the world danced on the dance floor with shapeshifters from the next town
over.
Tonight, however, the strange pub was empty except for three men each sipping their
respected drinks.
Damon Salvatore, the darkly handsome vampire nursed his third shot glass of blood
staring at nothing in particular but thinking of something, someone to be exact.
Rob, a psychic who could heal with a touch, sat trying to ignore the whiskey bottle
before him. Every once in a while though, he would relent and sip from the bottle.
The third man calling himself Julian watched the other two men before him enjoying
their reactions. His glass of water sat untouched next to him.
"What are grinning about Shadow man." Damon snapped noticing Julian grinning next to him.
Julian looked innocent as he replied, "Just I joke I heard yesterday."
Rob looked at him, "And what was that?"
The shadow man smiled, "What do you get when you place three guys, in a bar after they
were dumped by the women they love." Julian chuckled and exclaimed, "Us!"
"Shut up!" Damon shouted shoving Julian out of his chair.
As Julian got back into his chair, Rob muttered, "I wasn't dumped."
"Neither was I, Rob." Damon snapped after glancing at Julian and went on quietly, "Elena
just made her choice."
"Kaitlyn and Gabriel deserve each other. Maybe she'll" Rob left the rest unsaid.
"Come back to you?" Julian asked brutally, "Sure Rob, your girl'll come back just like
that girl of Damon's will."
Rob turned on the Shadow man, "And what about Jenny, Julian?"
Damon snickered, "Yeah, Julie. I bet she'll leave her soul mate and come right into your
arms"
"Shut up." Julian replied and muttered more to himself, "After I got myself kill, it
would be the least she could do."
"So Damon, hear from that brother of yours?" Rob asked the vampire as he took a sip from
his drink.
"Long enough to know him and Elena are doing well. You?"
"You're lucky there, I have to see Kait and Gabe all the time."
Julian jumped in at that time, "I'm the most lucky. I don't see Jenny at all."
"I pity you two," Rob began, "You two actually saved Elena and Jenny, playing an active
role an all. Me? I just helped Gabriel save the day."
Julian patted him on the back, "Trust me Rob, active roles suck."
Damon raised his drink, "Here, here. I still have scars from being hit by lightning." Rob
winced.
"So what now, gentlemen?" Rob asked his two drinking buddies.
Julian and Damon were silent and took sips from their drinks almost in synch. Then Rob
took a drink from his bottle.
For the rest of the night, the three forgotten heroes sipped their drinks in silence and
then left their separate ways.
