A/N: My first story! WOW, this is cool!
My obsession for Ice Age started when my friends Abby and Lindsay went to see the second one and we played a game about it. I was Diego of course, (Hello! My name is Catgirl! Besides, Lin-Lin called being Ellie and Abby was Crash/Eddie)
Disclaimer: Neither do I own it, but unfortunately I never will!
Note: Ahkeilah is a saber-toothed tiger. And this is after the Meltdown.
(With the Scrat and his acorn)
The Scrat scampered across the stark wasteland that was only one of the barren fields of ice on the planet. He looked carefully around then sniffed the ice for a soft spot to bury his beloved acorn.
He ran to the edge of a cliff, stopped about five feet from the edge, and grinned widely. He raised his claws above his head and slammed the acorn down into the ice. This movement was accompanied by a large cracking sound. With fear in his eyes the Scrat looked around him, but saw no crack, so he went back to shoving the nut into its hiding place.
When the nut was almost buried the Scrat again looked around: No danger. Then he jumped up and slammed the acorn down with all his body weight. Then, a large zigzagged line appeared in the top of the ice, extending from the bottom of the cliff.
The Scrat attempted to get away safely and tried to pull the acorn out of the ice. It came out easily and he started to run. Though, before he took a few steps the ice completely broke away from the cliff.
Falling through mid-air on a piece of ice, the Scrat screamed; holding his acorn as if he hoped it would save him.
Then, a lurch of air suddenly tipped the piece and the Scrat dropped his acorn. He tried to walk over to it to pick it up, but it only rolled farther the other way.
The Scrat jumped on his side of the piece and the nut rolled toward him, but a chunk of falling ice from the break-away landed on the side the nut was on and it rolled back into place.
Once again, this time out of anger, the Scrat jumped on his side of the ice and, once again, the nut rolled toward him. But so did the chunk of ice that had stuck on the piece.
It tossed him off the piece, squashing him flat.
He fell through the air, always eyeing the acorn, but it soon disappeared through the fog.
The Scrat hit the ground hard. He staggered up, staring at the shadow growing larger around him.
He screamed as even more ice, crushed him to the ground.
A/N: In the next chapter, we meet Ahkeilah.
