AUTHOR'S NOTE: I did say I was going to rewrite this fic, so here's a chapter of how it's going to be rewritten. This chapter immediately follows chapter 9, I just wrote it the same way I'm going to rewrite all the previous chapters.

ADDICTED TO DRAGON

- faceless -

It floated. Through the stream of the river, quietly, gently. Soon, it touched the bank, confused as to why it got there. Yes, he thought, in fact he felt. He wondered and worried. It's muggy, wobbly, black body started to take form and into an eggplant shaped blob. Or no. Perhaps mist, of some sort? A ghostly figure you can, and cannot touch at the same time. Nothing defined it but it's face. Then again, did it have a face?

If it was it's face, it had a white, hard face, it's expression almost non existent. Red stripe ran through its eyes. Eerie, it's like nothing of any world imagined. As it stood, it extended from it's body very slender legs and started walking. Slowly, slowly, making sounds an elderly person probably would. Suddenly, it's baggy eyes seemed as if they twitched. Or they really did.

It moved faster towards a strange, carved boulder that spouted water from a hole. As it came closer, it examined it more and found that it had a tube and that was where the water came from. Closer as it gets, he extended a finger and attempted to touch the running water. As it's finger and the water met, it uttered a grunt of surprise, though it seemed please. It then kept playing with it, poking his whole finger inside and stopping the water.

"It's you." a voice called out from behind and it was startled. So much that it jumped and fell on it's bottom. "Ah! I'm sorry." the voice came closer and crouched beside it. "Are you ok?" she noticed that it's face fell off, and suddenly, it's body was ghostly no more, but the whole black turned into a cloak that hid it… him.

"It's me, Chihiro, do you remember?" she moved in front of him to face him, and what she show shocked her, probably more than anything else. The creature she once knew, the ghostly monster that stood, followed and almost meaninglessly existed, faceless, worthless… There now he sat, in front of the girl he once adored. Chihiro could not find words. She could only sit there and stare at awe.

His face was pale white, slender and smooth. Tall nose and thin, sakura colored lips. His eyes, still baggy, and yet completely different. Now eyes that showed emotion. Long jet black lashes and those mesmerizing garnet irises. His long black hair fell loosely on his shoulders. Still having that red marks through his eyes. Chihiro was stunned at how incredibly attractive he truly was. More than anyone she's ever seen. And she was forced to be honest about it for her face could not lie.

Red cheeks, her heart stopped when he suddenly turned to look at her straight in the eyes. And finally, she lost her breath when she heard him speak, "Chihi…ro." his voice, masculine, deep, and yet gentle.

Chihiro nodded. She mustered up courage, she raised her hands and towards his face she tried to touch him. Just to make sure it was all real. But he would not allow it. As if scared, he immediately reached for his mask and placed it over his face once more. And again, turning back into his former state, he turned away and ran back to the river as quickly as he could.

He was gone before Chihiro could stand up again.
