Title: Thanks, Sid
Rating: K
Disclaimer: Fox still hasn't gotten back to me on how much it costs to buy a T.V. show, but I'm pretty sure I can't afford this one. I'm just borrowing.
Summary: They both came to Wong Fu's alone, before they ever came with each other.
Notes: I wanted to try a different, less attached perspective, and what better candidate than Sid, infamous owner (…or something…) of Wong Fu's?

She used to come in here about once a week. She'd plop herself down at the bar and say, "One beer. Thanks, Sid." Then, she'd rustle through papers full of gruesome corpses, or she'd frown down at a manuscript laden with strikeouts and notes. I asked once, what it was for. Her novel, she said. Also full of gruesome corpses.
She didn't always come by herself, of course. Sometimes there would be a bevy of her colleagues with her, and they were the only people I ever really saw her seem comfortable with. I'd wonder who they were and what they did, but then I'd think of the pictures and decide not to ask.
He used to come in here sometimes, too. He would flash me a grin, say, "One beer. Thanks, Sid," and then the smile would slide off of his face as he sat and stared broodingly through folders of official-looking documents.
He didn't always sit by himself the whole time, though. Sometimes he'd end up chatting up some blonde bombshell, but I don't think he ever ended up meeting them again. He'd leave with a wink and a smile that faded once he reached the door, and without a number.
One night, they all came in together. My one-beer bone lady and my one-beer charming brooder, along with the 'corpse crew'. They all chatted and seemed to have an air of celebration about them- they had closed a case, she told me, when I asked. I remembered the grisly photos and the mysterious files, and decided not to inquire further.
She left first, with a little smile I had never seen on her face before. He left half an hour later, with a cocky grin that actually made it out the door.

AN: I can't get better if you don't tell me what works and what doesn't! Reviewers are always extremely appreciated.
