A/N: Another Man on the Fairway-inspired oneshot ... it came to me while the kids (8 of them, approximately 18 months old, not mine) were asleep and I was working on a new chapter for Maternal Instinct. It takes place about halfway through the episode, but there are no spoilers except Angela's quote.

Disclaimer: I own nothing, I make no money off of this. Yep.

"Bones, it's nine o'clock at night and the building is empty. What are you still doing here?"

Brennan looked up at her partner, who was standing in the doorway to her office. "I'm looking through some of the files that Jesse gave me. What are you doing here?"

"Thought you might want to grab a drink," he said, walking behind her desk to examine the documents over her shoulder. "You actually believe any of this garbage?"

"Booth, this man has dedicated his life to finding out what happened to his father. Misguided or not, at least he's well-intentioned."

"Well, I don't like the way he looks at you," the agent replied gruffly.

"Jealous?" she queried flirtatiously, leaning back slightly so their cheeks were almost touching.

"Maybe," he countered. "Has he done anything I should be jealous of?"

She turned so she could flash him a wide-eyed innocent smile. "Well, he did try to kiss me in here today."

Booth tried unsuccessfully to hide the appalled expression on his face. "Right here. In your office."

She grinned, knowing she had him. "Mmmhmm."

"Did you kick his ass?" He knew he was coming on a little strong, but Booth couldn't help himself.

"No," she replied, pretending not to notice the way his eyes had darkened. "I just said that this was where I worked."

"You could have just, you know, told him you already had a boyfriend. I hear women use that line all the time."

"Booth," she said teasingly, leaning forward so her mouth was barely a breath away from his, "Coming from me, I don't even think Angela would believe that one."

He looked into her eyes and saw exactly what he wanted: desire that matched his own. With excruciating slowness, he brought his lips to hers. He saw her eyes flutter closed in anticipation, and he was a second away from making contact when she suddenly threw back her head and laughed. "Angela!"

"What? Where?" he choked out, trying to regain control.

Temperance was still shaking with laughter as she rested her head against his chest. "Angela told Kane that no one had tried to kiss me in this office and lived to tell about it."

"Aha," he said, grinning, then tugged Brennan to her feet so he could slid his strong hands down past the curve of her breasts to her slim waist, pulling her tightly against his already aroused body. She shivered at the now-familiar bolt of desire that shot straight to her gut as Booth inclined his head to whisper seductively in her ear. "I wonder what Angela would think about what you did to me two nights ago on that couch."

Brennan smiled, then turned toward him, capturing his mouth in the deep, uninhibited kiss she'd been thinking about since Booth had left her apartment that morning. "As I've said many times before," she murmured against her boyfriend's mouth as she slipped her hands beneath his shirt, "what Angela doesn't know can't hurt her."
