A/N: I like the dark little one-shots for some reason...O.o
Why do we fall?
It was such a difficult question. People, in so many different ways, asked him the exact same question. And what was the answer to such a slightly mentally disturbing question? What exactly did falling mean? Did it mean your life going in complete turmoil? Losing everything you had?
Psychologically speaking, falling could mean your sanity disappearing. Physically it could mean becoming heavier, skinner, losing your athleticism...Anything could mean falling. Falling in love, falling into debt, falling from social status. Could there possibly a simple answer? An answer that just solved everything?
He was a demon, from the very heart of darkness, did that mean he was falling? Did the fact that he was considered evil mean he would never hit ground, and be falling forever? If that was the case, he would need something to grab onto, because he wouldn't let himself get that far down.
Fell. Falling. Fallen.
Three different words, three different meanings.
Fell- To give in to temptation
Ge gave into temptation of finding his light by Hades. Trusting the word of a cunning God.
Falling- to go down by gravity
He was pulled down, drowned by the power the darkness gave him. The unexplainable sense of satisfaction, like he was better-stronger than everyone else. He went deeper into the blackness, the cool, refreshing sensation of being undefeatable. But the further he went, the more control Hades got. Until he himself was a curse.
Fallen- having fallen in or collapsed.
And suddenly; it was too much. He wasn't grinning anymore, he was broken, shattered, his heart ripped out from him and put on display as Hades' prized possession.
You won Hades. But I'm taking myself back.
He fell into darkness, was falling deeper, and now, he knew he hit the bottom. Because this time around he wasn't anyone's to be used. He gave up on sinking and reached out. And there wasn't anyone there to pull him back up, but he could rebuild. Start from the bottom up, and he'd go back one day.
Throughout that course of time, he'd figured out what falling meant. It meant winning, it meant losing, it meant gaining, it meant disappearing.
He fell from reality, but he'd fall back into it.
So the answer to that not-so-simple question?
So we can pick ourselves up.
A/N: I know. Crap. But I needed to get it out. Hope you liked.
