he door burst open to his apartment, he ran down the street.
"Fakir! What are you doing this late-"
Mute watched as the dark-haired knight raced down the street, still carrying the book in his hand.
It had to have worked.
There was no other way he could think of.
He raced towards the pond in the park, sitting there was a girl.
She shivered, it was colder outside when she was not a duck. Ahiru glanced around at her surroundings, what was she going to do now? Not only had she just changed back into a girl, but she was completely naked.
"Ahiru!"
She jumped at the familiar voice. Turning, she saw him running threw the park.
"Ahiru! Answer me!"
"FAKIR!"
It was like music in his ears. She saw him smile automatically, slipping off his long jacket as he ran towards her, not caring that he was up to his knees in water. He wrapped the robe around her, laying his hands on her shoulders.
"You found a way." she murmured, "I'm a girl again. I know you could do it."
Fakir smiled at her, for some reason he could not stop.
He had always been special to her. While Mute had fallen in love with her, it was only as Princess Tutu. The prince was destined to fall in love with Princess Tutu, but now that the story had been redone. Ahiru found herself happy that Rue and Mute had ended up together. They were both happy, and thats all she cared about.
But as Fakir had asked her once, what about your feelings?
Her feelings did not matter to her as long as everyone else was happy. But now, due to Fakir's perseverence, she was back as a human again. She was no longer a duck.
"Fakir." she hugged him, "Thank you."
He nodded, "I swore that I would always stay by your side. No matter what."
"Even if I was a duck?"
Chuckling, "Even if."
Looking into his eyes, she smiled back. Fakir did not care if she was Princess Tutu, or any sort of Princess...he was in love with Ahiru. With the clumsy, dizty, loud girl that he had first met at the dance school. He loved her antics, her personality, everyting about her.
Now, he had her back.
"Fakir-"
He laid his hands on her face and kissed her. She froze in his arms a moment, then melted in his hold. Wrapping her slim arms around his neck, she kissed him back.
"I love you." he said, pulling his lips far enough to speak to her. She laughed uneasily, there were tears in her eyes.
"I love you too, Fakir."
It had been so long since someone had said those words to him. She yelped as he scooped her up in his arms, lifting her out of the water. Ahiru was a little shaky, having no stood on legs for so long. Fakir steadied her on the street, taking her hands in his.
"You're no longer a duck, Ahiru." he said, "I'm going to show you the world. Show you everything that you've never seen."
"I'd like that."
She laughed as he lifted her up in his arms. Looking down at him, she kissed his forehead.
She was not alone anymore, and neither was Fakir.
