Pairings: SakuraXkakashi (slight InoXsasuke and NarutoXHinata maybe slight GaaraXsakura in the begining)
Summary: Here's another Sakura is left behind from the rest of her team. Everyone else advances in their skills and she just doesn't have the strength to bother to keep going (inner strength). None of her team has any faith in her anymore so why bother? She doesn't want to be extra weight anymore so she decides to take things into her own hands and become a true shinobi. When a certain beloved sensei notices her become increasingly distant and cold will he try to save her or resign that she will just eventually become like him and not care abut anything else?
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or anything to do with Naruto.

In demon days, it's cold inside
You don't get nobody,
people sigh
It's so bad, lasting far,
but love yourself
Hiding in a hole in there
Sakura was laying on her back under her favorite grove of cherry tees. She discovered it on one of her walks. Her walked were becoming more and more frequent now days.
Now that she wasn't a part of their lives anymore.
Now that she wasn't needed.
Bring it back, got to hold it back
To let you do that yet you
don't want me back
Before it fall down,
falling down falling down
Falling out to go far from
the soul
She lay there just watching the petals fall from the trees a few landing on her face and blending in with her hair. 'Its so calming'.
'I wonder if I should check to see if there are any missions for me'. She tilted her head towards where Tsunade's office was.
Sakura breathed in and let out a long heavy sigh. "Useless". She wispered.
In these demon days
It's so cold inside
So hard for a good soul to survive
You can't even trust the air you breathe
Because mother earth wants us all to leave
She
lay there thinking of Naruto, and Sasuke. Thinking of her past when
she was…. 'I was what?'.
'Happy?'
Sakura scoffed at that idea.
'Even though we were all together. Even When Kakashi-sensei hung out with us I was never really happy. I was still… so far behind them. They were to far out of my reach to get back'
Sakura sat up to lean against the tree and scan the distance.
'Sasuke is even ANBU now. I never even see him in the streets anymore let a lot talk to him. And Naruto. He isn't ANBU yet but everyone knows he will be soon.'
'He's never to far behind Sasuke'.
'He makes and effort to say hi when we pass in the street or see each other at the ramen place but… it's a pity look I always get from him. Guilt. Oh that's right you still exist.
That strange face that used to be part of my life.
"Tsk". Sakura turned her head away from the village. 'And then there is Sensei. He is always on ANBU missions now. I don't event know if he's in Konoha long enough to be able to say he actually lives here.'
"He never had time for me then, and still doesn't now". Sakura got up in a huff and stalk towards Tsunade's office to see if there was anything to do.
When lies become reality
You numb yourself with
drugs and T.V.
So pick yourself up, it's a
brand new day
So turn yourself round
Don't burn yourself, turn
youself
Turn yourself around
To the sun
'I can't believe this is my life!.' Sakura thought as she was walking down the noisy streets. 'Day after day doing nothing, talking to no one, going no where!.' "This has to stop." Not realizing she was talking to herself now.
"What has to stop?"
Sakura froze. 'Uh-oh, I can't believe someone caught me talking to myself!' Sakura blushed slightly and turned around.
The person smirked at her.
She blushed even more. "Oh hey Genma." "Talking to yourself? Tsk tsk that's something Naruto would do" he gave her on if his oh-you-know-I'm-hot smiles that girls just melt for.
But Sakura frowned at the mention of the Blond ninjas name. 'He's making fun of me!' She glared at him but eventually smiled. Genma knows how to make anyone smile if they are feeling down. It's his gift. Well that and his way with women.
Genma's the only one she ever talked to anymore. He always made a note to stop and say hi to her wherever he saw her. He'd always make a point to go talk to her if they were both in the bar that the ninjas had taken over or stop by her house just to say high.
Genma knew women. And he knew there was something not right with her.
To the sun, to the sun...
To the sun, to the sun...
After Sakura finally got rid of Genma she continued on to Tsunade's office. 'Oh man Genma talks a lot, well more like flirts a lot.' Sakura rolled her eyes.
As Sakura was darting up the stairs she almost ran headfirst into someone. Someone she hadn't expected to meat.
'Ow.' Sakura started to fall backwards, sure she would go all the way down the stairs when the person she ran into grabbed her wrists and helped her steady herself.
"Oh I'm sorr- Kakashi-sensei!"
"Yo." His one visible eye was crinkled in a smile, he let go of her writs and gave a little wave before stuffing his hands into his pockets.
"I'm sorry I was just on my way to see Tsunade-sama." Sakura was frantic and a little scarred. She couldn't remember the last time she had talked to Kakashi. 'Too long to want to start now.' "See you later, and I'm sorry again!" she gave him a little bow and took off up the stairs.
Kakashi stared after her. 'well that was weird. She's certainly changed a lot since the last time I saw her.' He shrugged it off. It was unusual for Sakura to be so nervous and bow like that they had never been so formal before but they hadn't seen each other in a long time and it was awkward.
He walked down into the street and saw Genma come his way. Genma waved and walked over to him.
"Hey Hatake how's it going? Just get back from your mission?." Kakashi stopped walking to talk to Genma.
"Yeah I was just giving my report to Tsunade. Have you seen Sakura at all today?"
Genma looked surprised by his question. "Yeah I was just talking to her why do you ask?"
"I just ran into her and was acting strange. Did you notice anything weird about her today?" Kakashi looked a little concerned for his former student. 'She was just acting so different from how I remember her.'
Genma raised his eyebrows in surprise over his friends concern for Sakura. "She seemed fine to me, normal as usual."
"Really." Kakashi sounded surprised. "She was acting so strange when I talked to her." He looked at Genma questioningly as if he didn't believe that she was really all right.
Genma looked like he was going to laugh which surprised Kakashi "Well when was the last time you really talked to her?" Kakashi looked away from Genma guiltily. "I mean she's nineteen now its been what? Four or five years since you were her teacher people change and you haven bothered to stay in touch with her. Come to think of it. I don't think anyone has."
Kakashi's head snapped back to Genma. "What do you mean?"
"I mean I don't ever see here with anyone. Whenever she's walking around Kanoha or at the bar she's always alone. She's usually haunts the cherry tree orchard most of the day.
Kakashi looked back in the direction Sakura walked off too. 'Sakura. Did we abandon you?'
Sakura was rushing up the stairs a little embarrassed with herself. Well a lot embarrassed. 'I acted like such and idiot!' she sighed. 'Oh well as if ill ever talk to him again.'
She finally reached Tsunade's door and knocked.
"Come in"
"Hello." Sakura smiled and walked in Tsunades office. "Hello Sakura, sit down what can I do for you?"
Sakura sat down in front of Tsunade's desk. "Well I was wondering if there were any missions for me?"
Tsunade looked down at her mission scrolls and bit her bottom lip. 'I've got missions but Sakura just doesn't have the skills for these.' "I'm sorry Sakura but I don't have anything right now." She smiled at Sakura trying to be encouraging but all she see was Sakuras face fall.
'Even Tsunade doesn't have any faith in me. I can't remember the last time she sent me on a mission.'
Sakura stood up with a fake smile plastered to her face. "That's alright Tsunade-sama I'll just come back some other time."
"Sakura its just that things have been slow lately and every-"
"Its fine, its fine! I completely understand ill just go now." 'I want to get the hell out of here!' Sakura wanted to leave badly. 'I'm so embarrassed.'
"See you later Tsundade-sama!" Sakura waved and took off so fast that Tsunade almost didn't notice. 'I'm so sorry Sakura but it's for the best.'
Sakura sat down at the bottom of the stairs and buried her face in her hands. 'I really am useless aren't I?'
Sakura got up and headed back to her cherry tree grove to spend the rest of the day and stare at the sky until the sun was replaced by the moon.
