DISCLAIMER: X23 Maximoff and Wandathetiger do not own X-Men Evolution.

X23 casually glanced around the large room. There were a lot of people

here. Too many, in her opinion. Why Kitty had to throw such large

parties she would never understand. The X-men were here, the Acolytes were

here, the Brotherhood was here, everyone was here! There were people

dancing, people flirting, people making out on the couch...it was just too

much.

The 17-year-old got up and crossed into the kitchen, ignoring a certain

person who was casually staring at her. She was happy for the silence

and the clean air. Too many scents gave her a headache. She got a clean

glass from the cupboard and filled it with water, taking a sip or two

before hopping up to sit on the counter. She could still hear the

pounding bassline of whatever hip hop song Kitty had turned the stereo to

now. That was about the time he came in, pretending to get a bottle of

water out of the fridge, easilly leaning against the counter a couple feet

away from her.

"Tired already?" he said, taking a swig of Ozarka.

"Parties aren't really my thing." X23 responded. "You're Quicksilver,

am I right?"

"Pietro to you, doll."

"Don't call me doll."

"Whatever, babe."

"Don't call me babe."

"Then what can I call you?"

"X."

"X?"

"What, did I stutter?" she responded sarcastically. There was silence.

"So parties aren't your thing. What, not much of a social butterfly?"

"I don't like crowds, I can't dance, and making out in the middle of

the room doesn't strike my fancy."

"What about making out in the kitchen?"

"That was a lame pick-up line."

"Maybe, but hey, why not try to get a pretty girl who's got spunk and

attitude?"

X23 rolled her eyes but had to smile. He just stood there and watched

her, taking a drink every once in a while. She thought, she schemed, and

smiled when a plot formed in her head to see if this guy was all talk.

"Okay." she said after a few minutes of silence.

"Okay what?" he responded.

"To making out in the kitchen." she said, sliding off the counter and

enclosing the distance between them to a good six inches.

"Seriously?" he said, watching with a smooth look, never showing any

signs of a slight nervousness that X23 could feel radiating off him.

"All talk and no action? Are you nervous, Pietro Maximoff?" she said in

a soft voice, moving closer and comfortably holding his gaze.

"I'm waiting for the right moment." he responded with a smile.

"Oh, really? When is-" she was cut off by him crushing his lips against

hers. She slowly wrapped her arms around his neck as he deepened the

kiss and slid his arms around her waist. After many moments of them,

well, making out in the kitchen, they slowly pulled apart.

"So," Pietro started after a couple moments of a comfortable silence.

"I was wondering if you would like to go out on Friday."

"With you?" she said with a slight smile.

"Well, yea, unless you see me unfit."

"I'd like to go out on Friday." she said. He smiled. She smiled. Then

she took his bottle of water and walked up to her room, sitting on the

bed. She had a date. On Friday. With a really cute guy. But a guy that's

on the other team, she reprimanded herself. But he seemed really

nice...

Needless to say, our poor little experiment was confused. What was she

going to do? What if it actually went somewhere? What would Logan say?

What would the rest of the mansion say? What would Ororo, who had

basically acted as her mother for the past few months, say? What had Ororo

assigned for science homework?

And why on earth where her lips tingling so much?
