Mistletoe

Sena stretched his arms as far as he could, standing on his toes, but still couldn't reach. Relaxing his body, he wondered for the hundredth time why he had been chosen for this task.

As much as he hated to admit it, other than Komsubi he was the shortest member of the team. And yet, he'd been the one Mamori picked to hang the mistletoe.

The only ladder the team had looked like it was infested with termites, and wobbled with the slightest movement of it's user. Sena had almost fallen off seven times.

"Okay." Deciding to give it one last try, the boy reached up and attempted to tack the mistletoe to the ceiling. Limbs quivering he gave a final push and loosly attached it to the flat surface. 'Most wonderful time of the year my a...' "Ack!" The brunette found himself falling backwards off the creaky ladder.

Bracing himself for the harsh impact, he was quite surprised to find a pair of arms suddenly supporting his weight. Blinking his eyes open, he came face to face with his demonic football captain.

"Fucking idiot! What the fuck were you doing!" Sena sat in a state of shock. Did Hiruma actually care? "You could have broken your fucking leg!" Nope.

"I-I was just hanging the..." The running back felt something land on his head, and didn't need to look up to know what it was. The way his luck was going today, it was probably the mistletoe.

Hiruma plucked the sprig off of the boys head and held it between two fingers as if it was something contagious. He glanced down at the flushed brunette, then back to the plant.

Sena was in the middle of cursing fate when his head was tilted back and a warm pair of lips were covering his own. Surprised, the brunette tried to shove the larger male off only to have a hand come up and craddle the back of his head as the kiss deepened.

When Hiruma released him, Sena found he could only lie there and try to catch his breath. That had been, exhilerating. He was then dumped onto the floor.

"Go ask the principle for a new ladder. Just tell him I sent you." Hiruma waved casually over his shoulder as he left the bewildered boy in the clubhouse.

Once outside, the blonde breathed a sigh of relief. That had been close. Good thing he'd been spying on the pipsqueak, but that whole thing with the mistletoe was dumb luck. He'd have to get more of those damn things...
