Sara put down the forensic journal she had been reading on her coffee table with a sigh.
Reading it was hopeless, she was upset and the words just seemed to jumble all together. It had been going on for two weeks. Two weeks of torture. Two weeks since Sara had started living in her house again.
It was just a little strange at first but she adjusted, she had always been good at doing that.
Even though she was still lonely. Which would be perfectly normal in any case since she had company for the last month or so.
It was her fault actually. Her fault for driving people away, for not being open enough to others.
Sara had been ignoring Sofia for weeks and Sara was almost certain that Sofia knew what she was doing.
Sara would have been content with Sofia not knowing about the hole situation. However Sofia was a detective and that would be a feat in itself. She wasn't a detective for nothing.
----
Sara and Catherine had been assigned a floater with Sofia to join them for protection among other things.
For once Sara wished it was her day off. So she wouldn't have to deal with Sofia or the issue they were having.
Catherine left to take some evidence to trace. Sara felt betrayed as she watches Catherine leave, leaving Sara with Sofia.
Just lovely.
"Why did you feel the need to leave?"
"You look like you needed some space," Sofia replied.
"Doesn't mean I wanted it," Sara muttered.
Sofia smiled grimly. "Perhaps not but I'm not a mind reader."
"Is that why you left? Because that's just ridiculous."
"Than you should have said something. You did have a chance after all," Sofia replied.
"I was hoping you wouldn't notice."
"It was hard not to," Sofia pointed out.
Sara didn't say anything there wasn't much to say.
"It's not like you've dug yourself into a pit Sara."
Sara sighed. "I don't know what I want."
Sofia was silent for a few moments. "I know and it's something you have to figure out on your own."
Sara was about to respond when Sofia's cell phone rang.
"Curtis," Sofia said curtly. "I'll be there in a few minutes."
Sara began to collect some fibers she had saw before she started talking with Sofia.
"Think about it Sara," Sofia said before she left. She paused and watched as Brass took over Sofia's job.
"Anything good?"
Sara gave a slight smile. "Just collecting fibers, Brass."
