Luna doesn't mind that Ginny pretends not to know her very well in public. If someone is being cruel to her, Ginny defends her while making it clear to anyone watching that she's only doing it out of Gryffindor chivalry. Ginny greets Luna in the hallways, but she makes sure to give her friends an embarrassed look.

Luna understands that Ginny has a reputation to maintain. What would people think if the prettiest and most popular Fifth Year girl actually held hands with Loony Lovegood and kissed her out by the lake where everyone could see? If the star Gryffindor chaser was caught fingering the muddle-minded Quidditch commentator, it would turn the social hierarchy on its head.

Luna doesn't let it bother her too much when she encounters Ginny snogging Dean Thomas in the corridors or sees them holding hands as they enter the Great Hall. Ginny might spend Hogsmeade weekends at Madam Puddifoot's with Dean, but Luna knows where Ginny will be later those night. The twinges of jealousy Luna feels when she spies on Ginny and Dean are forgotten as soon as Ginny softly bites her neck and strokes her through her knickers.

Luna thinks of the Classroom Eleven as their special place. It was after a Divination class Fourth Year that Ginny first kissed her. The forest glamour - meant to make Firenze feel at home - makes Luna feel like she and Ginny are the only two people in the world. When Ginny's fingers are tangled in Luna's blonde hair and she's moaning Luna's name, Luna knows that social status doesn't matter. Sometimes Luna wishes someone would walk in just as Ginny clamps her thighs around Luna's head and screams. She bets Ginny wouldn't give a damn who saw them together at that moment.
