Oh Kami, what was I thinking? Konnichiwa Minna. I was on holiday and, as a lounged around in the hotel room in Blackpool (its on the West Coast of England by the way), I started thinking a load of stuff and came up with this. As said, what was I thinking? I haven't even attempted poetry since I was about 11. It's so… childish this one is. Either way, I'm putting it up to see what you guys think of an author with too much time on her hands. I seriously hope my on-going fiction 'Fading Futures' will make up for whatever prat I show myself up as here.

Self–flattery aside, This is supposed to be a poem from Kaoru's point of view about how she views Kenshin and his habit of hiding his own problems from the rest of the Kenshin-Gumi. I really hope you do review though. Not a natural poet, it's still interesting to find out what everyone thinks. I don't even mind if you have a go at me – I've already yelled at myself! I feel a total baka, really. Seriously, I'd deserve it. I should just stick to Story telling…

Just to let you all know, I don't own Rurouni Kenshin or any of its characters. They all belong to Watsuki-sama (all hail Watsuki-sama!)

Hope it ain't too bad (winces)

Behind those violet eyes

A depth of secrets hidden

A wealth of pain inside

Locked behind rurouni masks

Behind those violet eyes

Within those masks you're hiding

A soul that bleeds, still raw

And though inside you're breaking

Those walls will never fall

I sometimes wish I never said

'I don't care about your past'

Because the pain still haunts you

Behind walls we've never passed

With each fight that you have fought

Scars open and bleed anew

But know that you are not alone

I'm always here for you

So, frustrating as it is to us

We will wait for you

To finally let your barriers fall

And be the man that's you

Not Rurouni smiles you give us

Or to evil, Battosai's glare

But the Kenshin hiding deep inside

Behind that amethyst stare

I'll always wait for you, my love

Ready arms opened wide

For iron walls to finally fall

And show the man you hide

Behind those violet eyes

Owari

Chosha's notes: 0.0 that changed a little from what I wrote first. I came up with some new lines. (Reads over and winces) Not that its gone much better or anything. The moment of truth… I prepared myself for everything…I think. Questions, comments and criticisms accepted. If you ask any questions that need answering, I will make another 'chapter page' to answer any questions you want to know.

Arigato everyone who's read this and anyone who's also read my other fanfic (not finished yet). However, from what Beth-kun, Hitokiri Taijiya and others have said, its coming on better than I thought Ja ne for now!
