Raven knew she needed to keep her thoughts at bay tonight but the only thing she could think as they soared across the water was, Oh Azar, what else did he plan tonight? If this was how his first idea had worked out she wasn't sure if both of them would live to see the end of this date.

Chapter 18 ' Soy-beanie-goodness '

"Alright we're here! Uh…Raven, you can open your eyes now, your surprise awaits!" Beast Boy stated as he looked at the half demon next to him.

"I didn't have my eyes closed because I wanted to be surprised Beast Boy, I had my eyes closed because I didn't want to watch you hit another fire hydrant," she replied opening her violet orbs to narrow her eyes at him.

"Oh, eh heh my bad," Beast Boy said shooting her a nervous grin. "On the bright side at least Cy installed the dent proof shield on the T-car so he'll never know we took it!"

"I thought you guys were best friends, you share everything remember?" Raven asked raising a brow at the green teen as she referred to his earlier statement.

"Uh, yeah I..um…ready to go inside!" Beast Boy yelled jumping out of the car and scrambling around to the other side to open up the door for the empath.

Raven massaged her temples as the door opened beside her. "As ready as I'll ever be," she mumbled.

"What was that Rae?" The changeling asked.

"Nothing," she deadpanned. "Just said I'm ready too."

"Great!" Beast Boy exclaimed. "Look I know I was supposed to plan this whole thing out myself but I may have gotten a few helpful hints on where to take you." He looked up at the restaurant and then back to the half demon with a smile from ear to ear.

"Oh?" Raven asked trying to pick up on if he was trying to read her mind currently. "And where may these helpful hints have come from?"

"I uh…can't really say she-err the person who helped would kill me if she knew I told you," he replied with a nervous chuckle. "But here we are!"

"The Greenhouse," Raven replied raising an eyebrow at the name that Beast Boy had for some reason chosen to take her to tonight.

"Yeah, um…I was actually really surprised when I heard you wanted to come to a vegetarian restaurant, you always seemed to side with Cyborg in the past when it came to cooking." He glanced at her noticing the confused expression playing on her features.

"Right," Raven replied unsure of what to say. I said I wanted to come here? You would think I'd remember saying something like that.

"Oh man, I'm such an idiot," Beast Boy stated. "I had thought Starfire said this was the place but I mean…she could have easily been thinking of somewhere else and-."

"Beast Boy calm down," Raven snapped. "You asked Starfire for advice?" She asked.

"What? Who? I…um…yeah I may have done that," he admitted sheepishly.

Raven watched the teen skeptically, if he had asked the alien for advice she surely wouldn't have given him any tips that were helpful after learning that he had been reading their minds for the last few days. Then again Raven couldn't very well give that information away without telling him why Starfire, who was always willing to help out her friends, was now lying about Raven's ideal eateries.

"Dude, I totally screwed this up didn't I?" Beast Boy asked. "We can totally go somewhere else, you pick, wherever you want Rae…ven. Raven," he corrected with a forced smile.

Geez, I think BB's gonna have a panic attack any minute now, giggled her happy emotion.

"Beast Boy, calm down, this is fine," Raven responded, even though for the life of her she didn't understand why she was catering to him when he was clearly the one who had been violating her privacy with his new found mind reading abilities.

"Are you sure? Because we can totally go wherever you want," he protested.

Raven opened her mouth to argue with him but decided against it. Instead she simply rolled her eyes and grabbed a hold of his sleeve beginning to tug him towards the restaurant. "If I allow you to, we could argue about this all night. I'm sure there's something to eat inside that doesn't have tofu on it. Trust me Beast Boy, it's fine."

"Ah, okay…but really…"

"If you ask if I want to go somewhere else one more time I'm going to turn the T-car around and drive to the closest steak house, deal?"

The changeling's eyes widened at the remark that had just escaped out of the empath's mouth. "That's harsh Rae," he deadpanned.

Raven merely glared back in response.

"So uh…after you?" Beast Boy asked with a nervous laugh as he grabbed hold of the door to open it for the empath.

Raven could feel her emotions getting ready to react. It was actually a lot harder to keep them from reacting when Beast Boy was unpredictable rather than when he was acting the way she expected him to act. The vegetarian place had thrown her through a loop. She expected him to simply read her mind and find out where she wanted to go.

Perhaps he's on to us? Her intellectual emotion questioned before Raven had time to stop her.

Raven cringed at that comment. Taking a glance back at the changeling he didn't seem to have heard anything, but then again if her emotion was right maybe he was just playing dumb so she didn't call him out on invading her privacy for the last few days.

"So Raven, you finally gonna try some soy-beanie-goodness?" Beast Boy asked pulling her away from her thoughts.

The dark girl looked around, she had been so conflicted with her emotions that she didn't even notice that she had followed the hostess into the dining room area.

"I respect that you don't eat meat, please respect that I don't eat fake meat. I'm sure they have salads…or…something," she stated as she picked up a menu and began flipping through it.

"Just saying, you don't get the full effect of a vegetarian restaurant unless you try some kind of soy product," Beast Boy taunted. "I still don't know why Star would tell me you wanted to come to this place if you never suggested it though."

Raven looked up at the green teen across from her. He certainly looked none the wiser about her knowing about his mind reading abilities.

Keep your mind clear, don't think about it. She told herself.

Beast Boy seemed to tense up at her thought. What can't she think about? Did I do something wrong? He kept his face planted in the menu even though he desperately wanted to ask the half-demon what was on her mind…seeing how she was apparently keeping her mind clear tonight. At this idea his eyes popped wide open. Oh my God, she knows.
