"Once Upon a Wing"

Epilogue

"And They Lived Happily Ever After…"

The year, after colony 196.

Vice Foreign Minister Relena Darlian had recently announced her bid to run for the political office of the Presidency of the Earthsphere Unified Nation.

After one foiled assassination attempt on her life, former Gundam pilot Heero Yuy appeared by her side and had taken on the role of being her personal bodyguard.

And along with that duty, he also took on being her constant companion and special tutor at Relena's own request. Though Heero could never understand why she wished to have him around for these even routine commonplace tasks she would trust no one else to assess her capabilities.

And so, that meant he had to grade both her usually academically high tests in college gradebook level history of the world where she could name people and places and events from the past and the present expertly.

As well as her literature, recitation and poetry lessons that her high status as Foreign Minister seemed to require of this well rounded politician, Heero was assigned the job of reading every work as her only trusted critic.

As if she didn't see him enough as her 24/7 bodyguard.

KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.

"So, umm, Heero? May I come in?" Relena's soft voice enters the silent man's silent office.

He wakes up from where he must've fallen asleep at the finely carved desk of his office within the Sanc kingdom's sparkling polished walls at the sound of her knock and soft voice outside the door.

"Enter." Heero responds in his usual dispassionate, clinical way, instantly wide awake.

"Well…?" Relena seemed to be in an especially pensive quizzical mood, seeking his approval - and maybe something more-that Heero merely raises an eyebrow to.

"It's your castle." He states the obvious without guile behind his sharp voice and even sharper steel blue eyes.

"No! I mean to ask, what did you think of my story? Did you like it?" Relena was getting used to his not-effusing-much attitude as she meekly enters his office, as if she didn't own the whole darn kingdom and could go wherever she pleased in it.

Seconds on the clock tick tock, tick tock away until Heero finally looks up into her eyes for the first time.

"I'll give you a C-, for your effort." Heero finally answers coolly, picking up the stack of papers in his hand from the desktop and depositing the much poured over tome back into her flabberghasted hand.

"A 'C-'!" Relena indignantly screams out, not accustomed to getting any grade below an A, especially being rather proud of this particular work of short fiction herself.

"Yeah. It was much too fanciful. The hero character's gun would have run out ammo long before the end." Heero says in his clipped tone, smacking the stapled booklet of Relena's none so neatly scrawled writings to the desk.

"Heero! That's so cruel!" Relena calls angrily for more constructive input than that one critical review as a whole of the entire 100 page story, as her bodyguard/tutor/boyfriend unconcernedly walks away from her.

But the smile on his twisted lip would have told Relena that he really enjoyed her literary fantasy world where the imaginative dreamer converted the physical traits and personality likenesses of people she knew into her fairytale heroes and villains. But Heero would never let the hurt, insulted girl see that human side of him that he didn't know if he would have ever owned but for meeting her and her idealistic dreams.

However, something else that was miraculously touched inside his cold calculating mind can't help but succumb to her disappointed cry.

Heero stops short in his tracks to swivel around and grab her hands on her offended hips to draw her into him and land a powerful kiss right on her pouty lips.

"And the character modeled after me should've done that about fifty pages back, too." Heero Yuy leaves the room, where the tightly shut, closed eyes celestial smile left on Relena Darlian's face was far more magical than all the mystic powers of her fictional world in Heero's singular one track mind.

And Gundam pilot Heero Yuy would always find a way to keep the golden light of Relena's legendary peace alive, in any world she was in.

Because her Heero, no matter when or where, or how, or what the personal cost to himself, he would follow her to the ends of the sky to make sure her story would continue forever in Peace.

And they lived happily ever after.

The End.

Yeah! I made it! Deep into the night here, Dragon and I finished getting this Once Upon a Wing fairytale, that my vivid dream envisioned one fateful night many moons ago, typed and posted at long last! And I got it published by my birthday week as promised, Gundam friends!

So please, now do review the story in its entirety! Did you like that little twist at the end, that this was all AC 196 Relena's imagination gone wild? I actually had two epilogue endings, but my Big Sis chose this one, for the humor and surprise value at the end of this adventuresome tale.

I hope to hear your comments and kind reviews of my Gundam Fairytale Theatre now that it's completely COMPLETE ^_^, Fanfiction friends! It would really put the cherry topping on my birthday cake, to know that I brought some entertainment and joy to people out there with this story borne of pure imagination, GW style.

Thank you for your infinite patience and God bless you, Friends!

Roger that!
