A Path Meant to be Tread
The road is so lonely,
Winding down towards nothing at all.
I have been alone in everything else,
Why not be alone when I fall?
My hope and my heart is gone,
Everything I knew.
Even all of the seeds of happiness
And longing that they once grew.
Now I lay here, wondering why
I had lived for such a short while?
Now I don't have you to keep me going
I won't make it another mile.
And as I lay here in the snow,
I can feel myself sinking fast.
I wonder if I will begin life again,
Or be stuck in an endless past.
Goodbye my friends, and my flower, too,
I will see you when the world turns cold.
Perhaps, then, when we see each other once more,
We all won't be as bold.
