I swallowed the pill

Tried to forget my fear

As I took some of my beer

I quietly stared at the bill

Kuwabara sighed. It had been years since he last seen his friends. After Keiko died of a disease, Yusuke moved out to Makai. Hiei had never showed his face in Ningenkai and Kurama remained busy with his mother. Leaving Kuwabara forgotten.

I was too late to pay

And now I'm in despair

I can't find the air

In this bright summer day

The ex-spirit detective was now in his mid thirties with his life slowly vanishing. He lived alone in a one-bedroom apartment. His right hand fell on an old picture. Dark eyes stared at the figures. A girl with sea green hair caught his attention. Yukina. The ice maiden had gone back to Makai in search for her brother. The other woman, the one with pink hair and was in old age, had finally passed. Her funeral was ten years ago.

I found my knife

Under my pillow

I could take my life

And let my spirit rest below

He was walking down the street when he heard a voice. A group of demon fighters had spotted him. Being caught by surprise, one of them launched at him. Kuwabara fell. He was never the strongest among the detectives, but he knew how to defend himself. He managed to slay at least three until the largest took him down.

It started to rain

My faith was slowly slipping away further

When a little light shined through my pain

I was saved by a friend's prayer

Kuwabara tumbled. His knee was killing him. Deep cuts tore through his skin, and bruises covered him. His left eye's vision wasn't keen as it was. He let out a cry as he felt gentle hands. He stared at the figure that was close to him. Botan stared back. He never thought he would see her again. She smiled, and welcomed him. Kuwabara smiled back. Letting his spirit rest in peace.
