Title: Hot Chocolate
Fandom: Gankutsuou
Characters: Albert, Franz
Notes: No spoilers, yay! Um... I'm reobsessing over this series which is why I'm suddenly writing for it >.> sigh Despite the fact that hardly anyone knows it... Just a quick scene set, I guess, sometime before the beginning of the series. Hope I got these two in character.

Hot Chocolate

"You idiot. You didn't need to walk here if it was raining," Franz said, throwing a towel at Albert.

Catching it, Albert rubbed it over his face and then his hair, voice muffled as he replied, "I didn't walk. I ran."

"Big difference that makes. Where's your bike, anyway?"

"Crashed it."

Franz froze, turning to stare at Albert from the desk he had walked over to on the side of the room that was their secret base. "You what?"

Albert looked up at him, slinging the now damp towel around his neck. "I crashed it earlier today. All this rain has made the ground wet and slippery."

"And no doubt you were going way over the speed limit as well," Franz retorted.

"Hey! I was only going a little fast."

"Somehow, that fails to reassure me." He had walked over to Albert now and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay, though?" he asked, looking Albert up and down as if he could have somehow missed some life threatening injury.

Albert hit him gently on the side of the head with the edge of the towel. "I'm fine, Franz. Stop being such a worry wart all the time."

"It's hard not to be with you as my best friend," Franz replied, though he was smiling now.

"Yeah, well, whatever. Anyway, I didn't rush over here just to see your pretty face, you know."

"Oh?" Franz asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah. I brought you something!" Albert pulled something out of his coat and tossed it to Franz, who caught it easily and looked down at it.

"A canteen?"

"Hot chocolate!"

Franz blinked. "You ran all the way here in the rain to bring me hot chocolate?"

"Why not?"

"...You're so stupid." But he smiled again, and turned back to the cluttered desk, opening a drawer. "I know we've got cups in here somewhere..."
