Rose slammed open the door to the TARDIS, infuriated, and turned to face her companions as they walked in, blocking their access to the control room. She glared up at them, further frustrated when only confusions blinked back at her from two sets of eyes. She was just short of killing them when they both escaped her by jumping over the railing and wandering off past her, "Oi!"
"What's eatin' ya?" Jack questioned, not really paying any attention, "You got the co-ordinates right?" the second question was aimed at the Doctor, who nodded, adjusting the dials on the TARDIS console.
"Ready to go," he confirmed.
"No we aint!" Rose exclaimed, storming toward them, glad that they finally took her seriously and actually backed away.
"…Rose?" the Doctor frowned.
"Now you ask!" hands on her hips, she glared at each of them in turn, seeing further confusion at her actions seep into their expressions, "That bloke. In the market," she elaborated.
They exchanged a confused glance, expecting the other to have the answer, and shrugged somewhat helplessly at each other when neither came up with the goods.
Rose sighed and grit her teeth, "The one who thought he was chatting me up."
"Oh!" Jack nodded.
"That one," the Doctor remembered.
She waited for some sort of response beyond positive identification of their transgression. She nearly stamped her feet when only silence met her ears, "And?"
"And what?" the Doctor walked past her to twist another of the dials on the main console.
She glanced back and forth between the two, "And neither of you think there was anything wrong with your behaviour?" she shrieked.
"He was chatting you up," he muttered, distracted.
"And he had a gun," Jack shrugged.
Rose stared, a little stunned, but refused to react beyond said staring. It would only have given them ammunition if she declared she didn't know, "And?"
"And…no," he threw his jacket over the railing.
"No?
"Not gonna happen," the Doctor insisted.
"Since when did you two become my personal bodyguards?" she demanded.
"Since…now," Jack offered her a half grin.
"Shouldn't you be wearin' suits?" she bit back a more sarcastic remark.
"They're at the cleaners," The Doctor commented.
Rose shook her head, "How bloody convenient," she glanced back and forth between them again, expecting some form of apology that wasn't voiced. Right then. Time to sort it out once and for all, "Look," she began, making sure she had both men's attention. She ran quickly over to Jack, flung her arms around him and kissed him soundly on the cheek, "I love you. You're brilliant and I don't know what I'd do without you," she detached herself from him and strode purposefully toward the Doctor. With more force than she had intended, she grabbed the lapels of his leather jacket and pinned him against the TARDIS console, "And you," she hauled his head down to hers and kissed him thoroughly, "Get a grip," she released him and walked away, "I own you," she finished, leaving the control room without a glance back, leaving them absolutely stunned her in wake.
Well, they had to learn their place, right?
